Summer is here and its time to get your kids in full gear for their Summer Reading. My daughter, like many other little girls out there, is a huge American Girl fan. So when we were told about the American Girl Read-a-palooza, she and I both wanted to know more! Read-a-palooza started on May1 and it will run through September 3, and the American Girl Read-a-palooza is geared towards girls, age 8 to 12, which is perfect for Estrella who is 8!!! We all know that during the summer, kids tend to get lazy when it comes to their academic skills, and one thing that I dont want my daughter to do is get behind on her reading skills, so programs like the Read-a-palooza are perfect for keeping those juices going during the summer months! At the American Girls stores, girls can go and participate in the Summer Reading as well as get involved in some really fun events! Along with the in store events, your daughter can go to http://www.americangirl.com/reading/ where they can download bookmarks, participate in reading challenges, as well as take part in fun and interactive quiz’s!! To make the Read-a-palooza not only a success for your own girls, the amazing people from American Girl are going to donate $1 of every book purchased through American Girl to the Children’s US Literacy Program, and this will also run along side with the Read-a-palooza through September 3! There is so much going on this Summer at American Girl, and like I did with my daughter, get your daughter up and reading and involved in the Read-a-palooza!!!
