Summer Getaway Check List! #GreatGetaways.

When I think about summer I think about what it was like to be a child. What is was like to anticipate and count down the months, then the weeks then the days, then when I was at school on that last day before summer, watching that clock and counting down the seconds until that bell would ring. And when that bell did ring to dismiss us for the official first day of summer, going out the doors of school felt like I was being let free. I would always have so many plans and ideas on how I would spend every second of every day of the much anticipated summer vacation. Every year I know there were plans that were already in place that my family had made. And those plans were usually the highlights of my summers!! I loved knowing where we would be going and what we would be doing. And I loved not knowing what those days would actually be like, what I would experience and what would happen. Ah, the joys of the youth. Now it is my turn to make those plans and show my children the sites and give them the experiences that every child deserves to endure!! My list of must see places for my kids in their child hood life is one I made for myself, and maybe I have not seen all of the sites, but I am determined to mark these destinations off of the list for myself and for my kids!! One vacation that I will always remember and I think every child that has ever gone there will always remember is going to Disney Land. Disney Land is one of those destinations that no matter what age you are, you are sure to make memories and enjoy every moment that the time there has to offer!! With that said, the second I would have to say is Disney World, I have never been there, but I am determined to take my kids there one of these days! Times are tough, and I know that those vacations are on the back burner for now, but I have the Disney Vacations on the top of the must go to vacation spots on my families list. Another place that I believe every child should go to and experience is Washington DC. I think that everyone should see our countries capital and learn about this amazing country. About our countries roots and all of the history one can soak up in one trip!! When I think about vacations I think about some of the most beautiful spots I have seen and one is Red River, New Mexico. I am from New Mexico, so maybe I am bias, but the beauty I have seen and have witnessed there is like no other place I have ever been to. And Red River is one of my favorite destinations in New Mexico. It is up in the mountains, the air is so fresh and cool, the people are so friendly and one can just get lost in the beauty that you can find there all year round. Whether you are a seasoned skier or a Spring Splendor enthusiast, there is beauty there all year round! I am just going to name five vacation spots that are on my list, but if I were to name them all, I could go on for hours. There are so many wonderful spots in this country that our kids would love and enjoy. So for now I will just give you my fifth choice, which is back to California, to the beautiful place where my husband is from, San Diego. We have taken the kids there but now that they are getting older and can do more, I would love and cant wait to go back and show our kids more. There is so much to see and do in San Diego, from Sea World to the Wild Animal Park. I could spend a week there and still not do and see it all. Just outside of San Diego is a little town up in the mountains called Julian. Julian is known for its apples and one of these days I will be there for their Apple Fest as well!! There are so many places to see and go to, but I think for now I am going to try to at least check off one of these this year, not sure which one, but hopefully at least one!!
