My kids love to play video games with one another and with their friends. Recently we were given the chance to review the new Skylanders Giants at our local Best Buy store. Now I have seen and purchased many video games in the past, but the way the Skylanders Giants game works is a new one for me. My daughter and I went to our local Best Buy and we had so much fun playing this game and learning about how it works. With the Skylanders, you have many characters that you can choose to play with as your character. Now, the selection is not your normal character selection, in order to change characters you have to have the Skylander figurine, so that you can place it on the Portal of Power and the game will read which character is ready to be played! You may be asking yourself, who are the Skylanders, and where do they come from? I also asked that question and that is when I learned that the Giants lived here thousands of years ago and fought battles in the Skylands, until they were banished from Earth. Now the Giants have to ban together once again to battle the Portal Master Kaos, and it is up to the player to bring them together and unleash their strengths on the Portal of Power!
To start the play you start out with the Skylander Giants Power Pack, which has the Skylanders Giants video game, three of the Skylander Giants figures and a Portal of Power where you can teleport the Sklanders Giants figures into the game. I love that you can get the Skylanders Giants on a variety of gaming devices which include PS3, XBOX 360 , Wii and Nintendo 3DS! Also for those who have already started the journey with the Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure, they can continue their gaming adventure with the Skylanders: Giants Portal Owner’s Pack!
