The holidays are a time where we come together with friends and family, to celebrate and enjoy one another’s company. We find that this time is one that is where we not only enjoy creating memories with our own families, but also help others to enjoy their time as well. So when I was told about the Walmart Sing to Salute program, I was excited to participate and share with others on how they can help!
Like many, when it comes to showing my support to our military and our veterans, I like to find ways to show them that they are appreciated for their service and for defending mine and my loved ones freedoms. And with the Sing to Salute, you get a great social media program that helps to support the Fisher House Foundation.
With the Fisher House Foundation, they have provided a home away from home for military and veterans’ families who are in military or veterans hospitals. This amazing foundation is one that has been there for military families for the past 25 years, and right now through Dec 22nd, Walmart has made it a goal to not only donate to the program to help the more than 60 US based Fisher Houses this holiday season, but also get others to provide the families with holiday songs that can be shared on social media!
To help with this initiative, go on your public profiles using the hashtag #Sing2Salute on YouTube, Instagram or Twitter and create a holiday greeting of one or more people singing a portion of one of the following songs:
- Jingle Bells
- Deck the Halls
- Silent Night
- Joy to the World
- Oh Holy Night
- Toyland
- The 12 Days of Christmas
- We Wish you a Merry Christmas
- Dreidel song
- First Noel
- Go Tell It On The Mountain
- Hark! The Herald Angels Sing
- Come All Ye Faithful
- We Three Kings
Once you have your song, be sure to upload it using the hashtag #Sing2Salute and also tag a friend and ask them to participate as well! For each post that is published to a public YouTube, Instagram or Twitter account using the hashtag during the campaign, Walmart will donate $100, up to $1 million to the Fisher House Foundation!
With this goal, Walmart hopes to help the Fisher House Foundation by funding 1 year of lodging for military families who stay at the Fisher Houses that are on US Military Bases! So get your friends and family together and create your song to share so you can help to spread cheer and joy this holiday season!
