When I was a kid, I was raised watching and falling in love with the many Disney movies that were out there. My parents shared the ones that they grew up watching and loving, and in turn, I have shared the many I watched with my own kids and we enjoy finding and sharing new ones together as a family. Aside from the many Disney movies that I grew up adoring, I can also remember learning about the history of Disney, and having a fascination and respect for the man behind it all. For me, the amount of imagination and creativity that is put into what makes Disney is amazing, and like many others, I am always in awe of what is coming next! Well recently we were sent a movie, that not only goes into the story behind the making of one of my all time favorite movies, but also shows some of the story about the man behind the mouse. We were sent Saving Mr. Banks on Blu-Ray to review. In this great family movie, you get the story behind the hit classic, Marry Poppins! I always adored watching Marry Poppins with my mom, and as a kid, I knew many of the songs from the movie by heart. Seeing how the movie came to be and how each scene was criticized by the lady behind the story, author P.L. Travers, brought the story behind the movie to life. I loved that they went into her own life story and how she was inspired by happenings from her childhood to create the character, Mary Poppins. We shared Saving Mr. Banks during a family movie night, and we not only found it to be a great movie, but we also found it to be a new family favorite!
