Raise Money for Tierra Fundraising | YouCaring

I dont do this much, but when it hits home I will try to help. I am from a very small, tight knit community in New Mexico. When something happens to a local, everyone, even those who dont live there anymore, try to help. Earlier, I was reading a post on Facebook from a good friend of mine who grew up down the street from me. She was posting about a girl who is her age and she knows very well. The girl who she posted about is a young mother, who was recently diagnosed with MDS or Myelodysplastic Syndrome. This is a disorder that affects the bone marrow and the blood. The girl who has this diagnosis is Tierra Franklin-Owens. Like I had said she is a mother of two, a young mother of 2 at the age of 25. Growing up I did know who Tierra was, but with the age difference I did not know her personally. Her older brother is my age and I did know him. Tierra is a ER nurse and from what I have been told, is just a great a person and good hearted as the rest of her family. Tierra has refused to lie down and let her diagnosis take over and has sought out treatment. On her journey she found hope, a chance for a cure that can be found in a hospital in Guatemala City. After finding hope, she was faced with the reality of the cost. Even though the cost of her treatment is high, she refuses to give up. She has started a page on YouCaring.com to help raise money to pay for her treatment. This hope that Tierra has can be a reality, her kids need their mom and she is too young and strong to give up. So, check out Tierra’s page, if you can, help with whatever you might be able to help with, and also keep this young mother in your prayers, because we all know what the power of prayer can do!!! Also, if you can share her page on your Facebook, Twitter and even Blogs, spreading the word can make a big difference as well.
