Summer will be here before we know it, and to get my kids ready for the summer, I like to not only find fun activities for them to enjoy outdoors, but I also like to find fun books for them to read in the evenings, so that we can defeat that summer brain drain that occurs. Each year, I like to find new and exciting titles, ones that will not only get the kids reading, but get them wanting to read and enjoying the adventure of reading. I find that feeding the kids minds, is not only fun while we watch as they get lost in a book, but it also fuels them for adventure to be had in the world of their imaginations as they play during the day! Recently I was sent a great selection of books, for both of my kids to enjoy this summer!
When it comes to Estrella, she has a great selection of books piling up for the summer, and of them is the book, Blood Diaries: Tales of a 6th-Grade Vampire, by Marissa Moss. In this book, you find that not only is Middle School tough for your average 6th-grader, but being a vampire can really complicate things and make it even more challenging. Estrella has already started in on this book, and so far, she has found it to be very enjoyable! This book is recommended for your middle school aged kids, and will be available to purchase and add to your kids summer reading on May 13!
Then for Robert, we were sent two great books for his summer reading pleasure! In the book, Cock-a-Doodle Oops!, by Lori Degman, the rooster on the farm needs a vacation, but if he is gone, who will take on his role for waking everyone up in the mornings? Well, with a great group of farm friends they decide that they will help Rooster get his vacation, by waking up the farmer themselves. This is a great funny book, and one that Robert and I are looking forward to adding to Robert’s summer reading! This book is recommended for kids age 3-7, and will be available to bring home on May 13!
The other book Robert was sent is called, World Cup Mouse, by Richard Seidman. In this fun book, kids will see that even the smallest of those out there, can have big dreams. The small French mouse named Louie, dreams of being the first mouse to play for France in the World Cup soccer tournament! Find out if he can do it by bringing home your copy to share with your kids this summer! This book is recommended for kids age 7-10, and will be available for sale on May 20th!
In all we have found these books to make for great additions to our summer reading list and as you prepare for your own summer with the kids, be sure to add these great books to your list!
This was not a paid post and honest/original opinions were used and they are my own. Thank you to the company and/or pr agency who supplied the product for review.
I really encourage reading and these sound like such nice books. When I was with my grandson we were at the library often for him to get books and he just loves reading now.
Cock-a-Doodle Oops sounds like a cute book I can read to my grandsons! I can't believe it's almost summer time!
