The weather is cooling down and in some places the snow is beginning to fall, with that we find that it is time to go around and winterize our homes. For many, this task is a simple one, one that we can do ourselves, but for others, those who are elderly and or disabled, the tasks can be a lot harder to take on. More times than not, many elderly find that they can not do the tasks that are needed, and that they depend on others to help them so that they too can stay warm over the colder months. I learned with my experience in home health, that many elderly and disabled will not speak up to ask for that help so that they can have their homes winter ready. This is a issue, because to those who depend on others for various tasks of care and such in their homes, they feel like they do not want to burden others and give them even more work to do. So as someone who is familiar with being a caregiver, I learned that it is the caregivers job to ensure that those they are taking care of stay warm and have what they need in their homes to get through the colder months. And when it comes to all that is needed for the months ahead, I have found that having the products from Poise® and Depend®, which can be found at Sams Club, along with a caregiver basket and caregiver winter checklist, can make all the difference over the colder months.

See, when you head to your local Sams Club, you can find and stock up on the Poise® and Depend® products needed by heading towards the pharmacy. This allows both the caregiver and those they are caring for to stock up, so that when the weather is bad, there is no need to have to run out and pick up more of those products that are needed for daily care. And on the days where you need to make that run to Sams Club but are short on time, you can utilize the Sams Club Pick Up feature, where you can order online then head over to pick up your order once it is ready. I like that aside from being able to go online and order, that when it comes to the features that come with a simple pack of Depend® that you can get at Sams Club, when you download the Digimarc Discovery app, where you can scan anywhere on the Depend® packaging,  you will be taken directly to the Sams Club Caregiver website. On the Sams Club Caregiver site you can find the personal care products you might be needing, prescription refills, free health screenings, and get advice on other products for around the home that might come in handy for those you are caring for. Then when it comes to the savings that you get when you shop for both the Poise® and Depend® products at Sams Club, you can see the savings right on the packaging. Which when you put it all together, makes the choice to shop at Sams Club for the Poise® and Depend® products you might be needing, and so much more, one that can make all the difference.

Along with shopping at Sams Club for the Poise® and Depend® products that might be needed when you are caring for others, I find that having a winter checklist and a gift basket with goods that warm both the body and heart can make all the difference as well for both the caregiver and the person they are caring for! You can download and print off the winter checklist for caregivers below:

To go with the winter checklist, I have found that giving those you are caring for something to bring some holiday cheer in the home can lift spirits and make all the difference.

And one way you can do that is by creating a winter gift basket to give to those you are caring for. Making a gift basket can be very simple by adding items such as soups that can be made and even frozen to eat at later dates, a mix of hot teas and hot cocoa, and holiday decor items like a mini tree and ornaments.

The gift basket items along with the winter checklist and the products from Poise® and Depend®, are ways to ensure that your patient has what they need so that they too can enjoy the colder months ahead.
