So first let me say, I am sorry for not updating on here last week. I was in the mountains of Southern New Mexico and I had no signal most of the time that I was there. Now, yes, I did go on a vacation, and yes I did enjoy me some of that amazing Mexican food that I grew up on. I mean, one can not go to Southwestern New Mexico and not dine on the famous green chile dishes that they have there. You are probably thinking, well there goes all of that hard work and her diet right out the door. All of that New Mexican food is so good, but it is also filled with lots of cheese and grease, and that is part of how I ended up getting to why I needed to go on the Nutrisystem diet in the first place. I am so guilty. I dined, and dined and dined some more, but when we did go out to some of my favorite hometown restaurants that I grew up on, I asked them to change up some of my favorite dishes. Like instead of asking to pile on the cheese, I actually had them hold the cheese all together, and I asked them not to fry my corn tortillas in the grease before hand, but to put it over the flame and crisp it instead. I also avoided the refried beans and the Mexican rice, and went for the side salad instead. I still was able to enjoy my favorite green chile sauces over the corn tortillas with the chicken and a little bit of sour cream, and I got my fill without adding the extra calories on like I would have done before without even thinking twice! While we traveled in the car, we did stop along the way to eat, so I went in the restaurants and asked for the nutrition guides and went by their calorie counts so that I could manage a healthy count even on the road. I was very worried about the whole weigh in, and I did not get a chance to get the weigh in until today. So for the big number, which I am putting down for a combination of two weeks since I did not weigh in last week, I am down 7 pounds, and that is after going on vacation and eating out most of the time!!! I was literally shaking when it came time to weigh in, my husband said that he had no worries for me, but I did. I mean, I went to a fair and I did eat things that I worried about. I went to a festival where they had horchata, and I drank a good sized cup of it since I had not had any in quite some time. I felt really guilty after that because horchata is a very sweet drink, and it is soooo good, and I am sure that it is not so good on the calorie count side for me. Anyways, I am home and back to the strict diet, because if I can loose 7 pounds on vacation, then, well, I need to get to work at home on my diet ๐ For those of you keeping tabs, I have lost a total of, ready… 36 pounds to date!!!!!!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS!! You are rucking it! You showed tremendous focus and willpower while eating away from home. A lot of ppl would not have that drive or be afraid to ask for things differently than as prepared. As a new fan I didn't realize you were on this journey, or how much you want to lose, but I wish you great success!
WOW….you are so amazing! That is just one more thing I would not have been able to do. I really was worried about you and thinking…oh, oh….no post could mean she was having a difficult time with this now. I know how I am so that would have been me, gaining rather than losing. 36 lbs….WooHoo! Congrats on this. I am really so very proud of you. Last week on Sunday, I went immediately to see what it said you lost then….well, no post so that was when I became concerned. Keep up that great work!
Congratulations on your weight loss!! Amazing! I had a baby in August last year and lost 70 pounds from September to February…it was tough but completely worth it! I still enjoy the foods I love though, especially Mexican ๐ YUMMY! Just have to make sure I don't eat too many chips and queso! You have a great blog and I'm glad I found it – found you on Top Mommy Blogs!
Thanks ladies, yes, I knew that some might be concerned since I did not post. I just did not have a place to weigh in nor a signal to get on and post with. Yeah, I had to push the chips and salsa away from me, the salsa at the restaurants we went to is all homemade and it smelled so good, but those chips were fresh and I could see the oil on them from where they were just cooked, so I had to fight that temptation. The old me would have sat there and ate two baskets of chips and salsa with some queso before the meal even arrived :/ 70 pounds that is amazing!! I am aiming for a large weightloss as well and seeing someone with a big number makes me feel better knowing that it is possible. Thanks again for the words of encouragement ladies ๐
