It is true, that fun gooey and molding stuff we played with in the 90’s is back! I am talking about Nickelodeon Floam and Nickelodeon Gak! If you were a child of the 90’s then you will remember Floam and Gak, I do! Sure I was also a child of the 80’s, but in the 90’s I was in my preteen and teen years, and Floam and Gak were products that my friends and I had to have. With the Floam we could mold and create creatures or cover objects to make them pop out! Then if we wanted to use the Floam again, we could put it back in the container or if not, we could set it out and let it dry so we could keep our masterpieces! With the Gak, we loved stretching it then folding it to make those awful farting noises. Another thing that we liked to do with the Gak, was make it look like big boogers, which was disgusting but for a kid was cool! After we were done, the Gak was also easy to put back in the container it came in.
Recently I was sent some of this awful fun stuff to review. I loved being able to share a childhood favorite with my own kids. I found how gross Gak really is, but with kids, the grosser something is, the more fun they seem to have. I now know why my parents did not care for it much, it is slimy and somewhat gooey, it stretches, and as my son found out right away, it makes unpleasant farting noises, but isnt that the whole point, lol! My daughter found that she could get a straw and blow air into the Gak to bubble it, which I thought was kinda cool. You can even bounce it and stretch it, with kids they are constantly finding cool things to do with it! Even though this stuff is kinda gross, it is something that I loved as a kid and my kids love now. I honestly dont know why this weird, gross stuff ever went off the market!
With the Floam, I had fun reviewing this product with my kids. Floam is like these little bead foamy things that are all stuck together to form this awesome stuff that you can shape and decorate with. I loved seeing my kids get creative with the Floam, they have not decided to let it dry out due to the fact that they have loved being able to create items then take the down and put their Floam back in the container to create something else at another time. Just like I said with the Gak, I do not know why they took this stuff off the market, I used to have so much fun with this stuff, and I remember finding it in my stockings during the holidays and it also made for great gifts at parties. All of my friends loved this stuff and my kids love it just as much now! I am glad that Floam and Gak are back and that I can share these products with my kids. To get your own Floam and Gak in various colors you can head over to your local Toys R Us!!
This was not a paid post and honest/original opinions were used and they are my own. Thank you to the company and/or pr agency who supplied the product for review.
My kids grew up with Floam. I forgot All about it, i bet the kids i nanny would absolutely love it. Trip to Toys R Us in the near future
I remember this stuff..OH the memories..the kids loved it. They also had a blast with (I can't remember the name) something that you could throw, it had a body and legs and it would stick to the wall and crawl down. I had to keep replacing those because the pet hair would stick to it also.
gak is fun
