As parents settle into their daily routines with a new baby, we also find that we want to ensure that we have the proper gear for baby. This includes not only the gear for when we are on the go, but also the gear that is needed for baby in the home, and when it comes to that must have gear, a crib mattress is on the top of the list. The thing is, when it comes to finding the crib mattress that offers both safety and comfort, we can find that the options can be somewhat overwhelming. So when we were sent the Newton Baby Wovenaire Crib Mattress, I was curious to check it out and also check it off the list of items needed in place for when Zoey will be ready to transition from the bassinet to a crib.
When we first went to check out the Wovenaire, I right away noticed how light weight it was, as we placed it in the crib to see how it would look. I found that this mattress weighs only 11 pounds, which makes it easy to take in and out when cleaning. After taking off the plastic, we found the fabric that this mattress is made from to really stand out, because it is not like other crib mattress’s we have seen before. In fact, as we looked at the material and even pressed down on it, we noticed that unlike the foam or latex that we have seen with other mattress’s, that this one is airy, and almost sponge like in a way. And after pressing down on the mattress and feeling that airy texture, I had to check it out even closer by picking it up to squeeze it, which when I did this, I was very impresses to feel how the air flows right through the mattress, giving baby a mattress that is truly breathable.
From there, I wanted to find out more about this mattress, and I found out that with the material that is used to create the core, that I can easily wash the mattress as needed right in the bathtub! I mean, the cover comes off easily and is also hand or machine washable, then with the core, I can place it in the tub and use soap and water to clean the core, and after both are dried just put the cover back on. Allowing me to have a crib mattress that is allergen, mildew, or even sour smelling free, even after accidents in the bed, and get a long term use from it instead of having to worry about replacing it after it starts to get a funk to it.
Then when it comes to the cover that is on the mattress, I like that aside from it being easy to take off and put back on after washing it, that it is also made from breathable material. The cover is made up of 2 layers of highly breathable fabrics that are quilted together and give the mattress a cloud like look to it with the pillows of air, which you can see in the photo above. Giving parents and caregivers a sense of ease as they put baby to bed, knowing that the mattress that baby is on is made not only from chemical free materials, but that it is also 100% breathable! Making the Newton Baby Wovenaire Crib Mattress a must have for any home with little ones and a must have to put on that checklist as you are preparing your home for baby!
I'd love to get a better crib mattress for my baby girl, and this one looks great!
I think an organic crib mattress is wonderful and important and safe. I do wish I had something like this mattress for my children when they were babies.twinkle at optonline dot net
