My Sibling Dolls Review & Giveaway CLOSED!!

Autism affects many families, the statistics show that 1 in every 150 children are autistic. That is a big number considering how many kids go to your childs school or are in your childs grade. Another thing to take into consideration is the families of autistic children. A lot of times there are siblings, and these siblings must learn to live with and be able to interact in a healthy manor with their siblings with special needs. That is what I find to be so great about My Sibling Dolls. They are dolls that are the siblings of children with special needs and they share their stories with others about their experiences with their siblings. April is Autism Awareness month and to help with raising awareness, the wonderful people from My Sibling Dolls sent me Matty to review and share with my readers. Like many other children out there, Matty has a autistic sister. Matty’s little sister Hope is Autistic and he had a hard time understanding why she cried at places like the supermarket, when he was very happy being there. Hope had a really great teacher and the teacher explained to Matty that places like the supermarket were way too stimulating for his little sister. He explained that her senses were heightened and what may seem like lights in the supermarket to Matty were very bright lights for Hope. And the crowd, noise, and smells were way worse for Hope than they were for Matty. He asked Matty to imagine those things at her level of sensitivity. Matty then understood why she did not like places like the supermarket and began to understand his little sister more. Hopes teacher also showed Matty new activities he could do with her so they could have more fun together. With the new insight that Matty now has, he is much closer to his little sister Hope and he enjoys spending more time with her. Matty’s story is great and reading it to your children, then discussing it with them also helps teach them more about autism and just because someone is different doesnt mean you cant be their friend as well.
