Let Your Child's Sense of Style Shine This Year!

The new school year is almost upon us and back to school shopping is here. I have grown to love shopping with my daughter. I personally love to shop and I have always loved it. I have always loved to shop for my kids, but until these past few years, my daughter went with the styles that I would create for her. I love knowing that my daughter has a sense of style and she is not afraid to flaunt her style. My daughter is style diva, she loves to dress up. Whether it is dressing up for fun or for school, she loves to dress her self her own way. When we go shopping she looks for color. She loves bright colors and she also loves to shine. So another aspect she looks for in clothing is shiny and sparkly stuff. I love letting her and watching her go through the racks then go into the dressing room to put on a fashion show for me. She is very fashionable and most of the time I am really impressed by the outfit selections and combinations she chooses to go with. She is very up to date and even though some of the styles she creates can be somewhat funky, the style is her and that is what she wants. I believe that letting our kids choose the way they dress and choose their own style helps them grow and builds their self confidence and independence. There are days that she looks very artistic and there are days that she will go with the simple t-shirt and jeans. What can I say, that is just the way she is. I think that style says something about a person, and I think her style says that she is bright and bold, a bit artistic but she can also be simple and when it comes down to it, she is Estrella, a Star that lives up to the meaning of her name. She shines for all, when she chooses to, but even with the t-shirt and jeans, you will still find some glitz or shine on her. Whether it is on her shoes, in her hair or on her as jewelry, that girl definitely shines! So when you are doing your back to school shopping, instead of picking out everything for your kids, let them show you who they are or who they want to be. Sure it may not be something that you would choose for yourself, but it is not you, it is your child and they are their own person. Now I am not saying that you get everything they choose, but let them have a say so, they will be more appreciative and more comfortable about what they wear.
