All opinions in this post are my own.
Being a blogger, I have a lot of couriers that come to my door on a daily basis. My kids used to think that it is ok, to just open the door when someone is there, because most of the time it was either a friend coming by or a courier. My husband and I do teach our kids that they are not to talk to strangers, and we also ask that they not answer the door when someone is there, and for a while there, when they would hear a big truck outside, they would get excited to answer so they could get that package that awaited them on the other side of the door that they would just run to see who could answer it first. Over the years, we had to break this habit with them, and enforce the importance of “stranger danger”, like we were taught when we were kids. Aside from the danger of the kids opening the door to strangers, I am also a mom who is home most of the day, with the baby, and there are also dangers with that fact too. I mean, if someone is at my door, who could be dangerous, and I answer with a baby in my arms, or even alone, I put myself out there, so having things in place that can help protect the family is important. We have cameras up around the perimeter of our house, but something that can make things even easier on everyone is having a video intercom system up, so when someone is at the door, we can see exactly who is there and find out what they want. I found a great selection of video intercom systems over at IlusElectronics.com. I know that having a good system in place is not only good for families with kids, but it can be good for anyone really. I mean, if you have a elderly parent or relative who lives alone, having a good system up for them can be a great tool, so say if they have issues getting up and down they can avoid that, as well as screen who is at the door in case they are unwanted visitors. So as you are looking for ways to protect your family, be sure to check out the selection of video intercom systems over at IlusElectronics.com!
A video system is a great idea…not only for the young but like you mentioned the older folks in our lives.I know mom and dad got into the habit of just opening the door to anyone, which scared me.
I would really love to get a video intercom system and put up a camera too. I would feel more safe and comfortable at home. I will have to check these systems out.
