Over the holiday season, it seems that there is a lot that we are doing. We have a lot on our lists this time of year, a lot more than other times of the year, and with all of the running around we do, we might overlook some important details. The holiday season might be a joyous season, but it can also be a dangerous season. From the lighting to the decorations and cooking that we do over the holidays, there are precautions that we as parents need to take in order to ensure the safety of our families. Well this year, to help my family in ensuring we stay safe while celebrating the holidays, I was given some really great tips as well as a pack of products that will all together help keep my family safe and spirits bright!
I was sent the information from the Electrical Safety Foundation International or ESFi. When I went to their site and started looking over their tips for the holidays, I found that there was a lot on there, that I might have overlooked had it not been brought to my attention. Like for instance, when it comes to decorating, there are a lot of precautions to be taken in order to ensure a safe and happy holiday. We like many others out there, enjoy decorating with the lights, both indoors and out, and with this comes the extension cords. One thing that I learned by looking over some of the decorating tips is making sure you choose the correct extension cord as well as much more.
Another thing that a lot of people see as a tradition is the candles. I too enjoy having the candles lit around the house, but one thing that I know some grew up with was having candles on the tree. Now we know that this is not a very safe option, but when you use electric candles, you can have your candles and continue to the traditions, but in a much safer way! If you choose to decorate around your home with lit candles, be sure to place them in areas where they can not be easily knocked over and never leave your candles unattended. You can find these tips as well as so many other great holiday safety tips by heading over to the ESFi website today while you are preparing for your holiday celebrations!
This was not a paid post and honest/original opinions were used and they are my own. Thank you to the company and/or pr agency who supplied the product for review.
It saddens me to hear every year of people who have lost their lives due to fires caused by electric Christmas decor. Especially trees of course. But any strand of lites are subject to causing a fire. Thanks for the reminder!
