I was contacted by a wonderful lady who makes some very nice baby products. She would like to offer one of my readers a Tutu for the holidays! Here is a little about her and her company!!!
A little about the designer..
She live, in Bremen, Ga. She is 29 years old and am married to her college sweetheart. They have a son named Jack. He turned one on the 22nd of November. She works out of her home. She was recently laid off. She worked for Verizon for 10years. She has wanted to be a stay at home mom for quite some time, so she am using this opportunity to be able to do the most important thing in her life, to raise her son. She is also trying to make this hobby be something that she can do full time to allow her to continue to stay at home with her son.
The name of her company is MY Baby Designs. She started it in July of this year. She had no intentions of it getting this far. Her son takes those Mam pacifiers, and they didn’t make anything cute for a passy holder for him, she had only used her sewing machine once or twice and definitely could not sew. So she started making universal passy holders to match every outfit. Needless to say she still has them coming out her ears. Well one thing led to another and here she is. She have a business page on Facebook. The link is. http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/pages/MY-Baby-Designs/145041478847144?v=wall Her mother is amazing and can do all sorts of things so she is helping her get it up and running, but they have both been so busy they just haven’t had a chance where we can sit down together and get it working. That is next on the agenda after the holidays. The website is http://mybabydesigns.vpweb.com The site is not completed, it’s not ready, but hopefully it will be by the end of Jan. She takes orders through the Facebook business page, however though because the business pages don’t alert you when you get a post, which is ridiculous cause you just have to go through your entire site to see if anyone put anything, There is a message that if they don’t get back to you in 24 hours to message her on her personal page. A lot of her customers have just requested to be her friend because they post everything to her personal page as well.
Here is what the designer said about her products:
I make a variety of things, one thing has simply led to another. I started with Pacifier holders, then bibs, burpcloths, blankets, sippy cup holders( These are actually kind of like a clip that attaches one end to a sippy cup, and the other to the high chair or stroller, so that you child won’t throw it on the nasty floor of a restaurant or something), hooded bath towels, tutus, boutique hair bows, 3D hairbows, Monogram anything you want, ear warmers with bows, monogrammed headbands, boggins for babies that have matching mittens, boggins for older girls and boys, and applique shirts and onesis. I am working on trying to get some little boy stuff, but it’s hard. I do have camo backpacks and little bags to be monogrammed that a little boy could attach to his bike, or four wheeler. I am also working on some little fort tents that have the childs name or say something like “Jack’s clubhouse”.
My tutus are made on a crochet headband which for allows the child to grow, it will fit newborn to around a children’s 5. I can make larger sizes on custom orders. This also makes it more comfortable for the child to wear. Elastic can sometimes irritate the skin. Typically price on tutus depends on length, and décor. There are two layers of tulle, which allows for a wide variety of color arrangements and patterns. Typically the lower layer is a little longer than the top. This allows for more poof.
Types That I offer:
A petti tutu (Petti tutu is when the end of each piece of tulle has another small piece of tulle tied onto each end, this makes it fluffier, and cuter I think) is typically the most expensive because they take the most time to make.
Rhinestone tutus, are simply a tutu that has rhinestones attached all the way around.
Standard tutus just have a bow on the front.
Just about any tutu can be made into a costume. I love Halloween! Allows for more creativity.
Price ranges are from $15 to $45. I do do photography packages. 3 tutus for $50. That does not include a choice of Petti Tutus. The typical suggested lengths are as follows: (For pictures, you may want a longer length, especially for babies that can sit so that the tutu really puffs up around them. This also depends on Preference.)
Newborn: 4.5-5.5 inches
6m: 6-7inches
1-3 yrs: 8.5-10.5 inches
4-5 years: 10.5-12 inches
6-8 years: 12-13 inches
Adult sizes vary.
The tutu that I have made is on a crochet headband. The length is 10.5-12in in length. The bow is a triple layer pinwheel and boutique bow. All on gross Grain Ribbon. I have also included Candy Cane Head boppers. They also have two small boutique bows that match the bow on the tutu. The bottom layer is emerald green tulle and the top is red, all on a white headband. This is pretty much the standard length across the board.
