High Strung in Theaters April 8th

This post is sponsored, all opinions are my own.

When it comes to movies, I enjoy not only seeking out ones to watch with the whole family, but also ones that I can watch with my husband. I have found that when it comes to finding movies to watch on mine and my husband’s date night, I like to find ones that we can both enjoy. So when I was given the chance to stream the screener of the new movie, High Strung, I was excited to add it to my list of great date night movies to go and see!

With the movie High Strung, you find a story where music is art and more than just a passion, but a part of life. You find two people, who both find music engraved in their souls where the beat comes naturally and is a part of their lives. The thing is, with the two, even though they share a passion of music, they are two very different people, and find that they must come together so they can both achieve their goals.

Both are very talented and see their talent as more than just a talent, but a part of who they are. You have Ruby who is a dancer, who has classical taste and lives in what some might see as a bubble. She is a girl from the Midwest trying to find her way in New York City. Then you have the street artist, Johnny, who is also very talented and lives his life day to day, playing for money in the streets of New York City.

The two cross paths and are forced to find a way to work together when they have to compete in a Hip Hop battle. They find that even though they come from two separate worlds, they have a likeness for the passions they both have for music and how it moves them. They must come together, work out their differences, and become a team so that they can achieve the goals they have set for themselves, all while trying to keep Ruby from loosing her scholarship and Johnny from being deported from the country.

I found this movie to be a great one filled with dance and music, as well as a story of intrigue and a romance that blossoms from the most unlikely of a pair! Making High Strung not only one that I have added to my list of must sees for date night with the hubs, but also one that I know my daughter and I can enjoy seeing together as well! You can enjoy High Strung as well when it hits theaters on April 8th!
