#Giveaway #FightForYourWrite Back to School with BIC “Fight for Your Write"

When it comes to thinking about school, I think about all of the new things my kids will learn. From math and history, to reading and writing. These things are not only important when it comes to school, but they are also things that the kids will take with them as they go through life. One of the most important of these tools they will pick up from school in my book when it comes to what the kids will learn, is writing.

Writing is a way for people to express themselves, put their thoughts and feelings down on paper, and a way to grow. There are so many benefits that come from writing, from the fact that writing is a vehicle for communication to how it helps promote individuality. Writing is important for growth in their reading, and it helps with boosting confidence as well as spark their creativity. Well with the back to school shopping season in full swing, and the kids getting anxious to see their friends and get back on a schedule, we were sent a great pack of writing products from BIC, to help our family join the “Fight for Your Write”!

The BIC “Fight for Your Write” is a campaign to help save handwriting in schools. The people from BIC know and understand the importance of the role writing alone plays in a child’s development, and they want to help save that learning tool, for generations to come, so that writing does not become a lost art in our kids schools.

In our home, we encourage writing with our kids, from drawing pictures and writing the stories down that are the narration of their creations, to encouraging our kids to journal and write their thoughts down. Our kids love to write, and they love that when they put a pen or pencil in their hands, what they put on the blank papers in front of them, is something they created, opening the doors to their imagination!

The people from BIC not only know the importance of writing, but like parents, teachers and caregivers everywhere, they love seeing that sparkle in a child’s eyes as they open the doors to their imaginations and create stories in their own words, written by their own hands! So to help with not only the back to school shopping, but also giving you the tools you need to “Fight for Your Write”, the wonderful people from BIC would like to give one of my amazing readers, their own set of BIC writing tools! Also be sure to sign the petition, win great prizes and help save handwriting with the “Fight for Your Write” campaign!!

My wife and I were just talking about how terrible our own handwriting has become because we spend all of our days typing. Thank God our daughters have beautiful handwriting. I do worry that it's a skill that will one day completely disappear. Thanks for the making us aware of the contest. Can't count how many Bic pens I've written and chewed my way through over the years.

Visited and learned: Experts recommend at least 15 minutes of handwriting instruction each day for students. Research has shown that improved handwriting skills have benefits for cognitive development, motor skills and can lead to improved writing skills and comprehension.

Handwriting is important, i know we use it less but to not use it at all isn't realistic.

I think it's great that they are trying to do something to help improve writing skills, as less people appreciate the greatness of paper and pen these days.
