With the summer here we find that the kids are home and the warmer weather is upon us, and with that comes the excuses to have fun get togethers with friends. Being that we live in the Pacific Northwest, we find that we have many summer days where the rain is falling so we enjoy bringing some of those get togethers indoors. For those occasions, I like to keep the fun of summer going with parties and set ups that everyone can enjoy while indoors. So when I was given the chance to set up a candy buffet, I found that it would make for a great party that can be created both indoors and out. And I was able to put my candy buffet together with a great selection of the candies and chocolates from Celebration by Frey that I was sent to facilitate my review!
To get started with setting up my candy buffet, I sought out some jars that would go great for displaying the gumballs and Sixlets in. I went with clear jars so that I could display the colors and varieties for guests to see. I used a hot glue gun to attach the twine I used around the lips of the jars to give them a rustic look. I then printed chalkboard labels that I added to the jars.
I found that with the gumballs and some of the Sixlets, they had a very nice, pearl coating to them, which helped to bring a lot of soft colors to the set up. I was able to go with this soft and fun color theme by making paper cones for my guests to use to carry their candy in. The cones were simple to create by selecting some pieces of paper with designs on them, (you can find a great selection of decorative paper at Michael’s), then cutting them along the edges to give them a “V” looking shape, rolling them into a cone and gluing the edges together with a glue stick. We then found some printable flowers, cut them out and added those to the cones as well. For the cone holder I used a old shoe box, cut holes in the top then painted the box. Aside from the gumballs and Sixlets that we were sent to use in our candy buffet, we were also sent some Candy Crumble, which I sprinkled on the top of the cakes I added to our buffet to help give them a sweet and colorful pop.
Then for the other decorations we used, I was able to create a fun “Candy Bar” banner by printing out some chalkboard letters and cutting them into flag shapes then hot gluing them to a long piece of twine. I also printed off the sayings above and put them in photo frames to help bring the table set up together! Which in all, helped to bring my Candy Buffet with the products from the Celebration by Frey line up together.
