With the Spring upon us and all of those outdoor chores to be done so we can ready our yards for the flowers and backyard get togethers, I find that along with mowing, weeding, planting new flowers and setting up the sprinklers and fountains, we also need to take the time to care for our garage doors. Honestly, when it comes down to it, we find that in order to keep our garage doors up to par and lasting longer, I have learned that we not only need to add the garage door to our spring checklists, but also add it to our fall maintenance checklists as well! And to help with reminding us on when to check our garage doors and how to lubricate them, I found that I can get that and more by signing up for the Twice a Year Maintenance Emails from GarageDoorCare.com!
See with the reminders, we can be reminded to do the maintenance needed like lubricate the doors twice a year. By doing so we can avoid any high costs that can come along with having to replace the motor or the springs if our garage doors are not cared for properly, which can then lead to costs that were not in our budgets but have to be taken care of regardless.
In fact, when you sign up for the reminders with GarageDoorCare.com, you can not only get the reminder to lubricate the doors, but you can also get the info you need through their free 3 step program! This program is designed to give homeowners a Garage Door Piece-of-Mind in 2016.
The steps to the program include:
1. Lubricate your garage door twice ayear (it’s
easier than you think)
2. Sign up for a free twice-a-year email garage door lubrication
reminder
3. Find a trusted, local garage door pro well
in advance of a problem
The people from GarageDoorCare.com have realized that when it comes to our garage doors, most homeowners have never lubricated their garage door. Due to this we find that this is why we might hear those horrible squeaks and other noises from time to time. If the noises are ignored for too long, you might find that instead of a easy maintenance fix of lubricating, you might have to end up replacing the garage door. And to help with not only the reminders but for the how to’s, when you head to GarageDoorCare.com, they can show you how to lubricate the door, rollers, and hinges.
Making the choice to sign up for both the free 3 step program along with the reminders, a choice that can end up making all the difference when it comes to your garage door and your wallet! And to help with remembering to check your door and lubricate the various parts, the people from GarageDoorCare.com are not only offering a free 3 step program to sign up for, but they also want to give one of my amazing readers a $25 Visa Gift Card!!

My favorite maintenance tip is: Monthly door balance test. If your door is equipped with an automatic opener system: close the door and disconnect the automatic opener. Once you are able to lift the door manually: Lift the door. It should lift smoothly with little resistance and should remain fully open. If it is difficult to open or does not remain open, the door may be out of balance and should be serviced by a trained service technician.

Also from personal experience I have learned that when you get an automatic garage door opener, make sure you know where your reset button is in case you have to open it manually sometime so you don't have to run around asking neighbors how to reset your garage door, LOL!
