Finding gifts to give for Valentines Day can be quite a challenge, especially when it comes to the man in your life. For me, I have always given my husband a card and some candy, but then I end up feeling bad after getting his gift to me. He tends to go out and find not only a card and candy, but he also gives me flowers and a gift that usually consists of jewelry or my favorite fragrances. So this year I will be changing things, and getting him something that he too will enjoy and appreciate. Recently I was sent a Gold Rush Panning Kit to review, and when I was asked to review this kit, I right away knew that this would make a great Valentines Day Gift for my husband!

My husband is a huge fan of the television show, Gold Rush, and every time he watches it, he talks about how he would like to go gold panning one of these days and take the kids. He says this because we were both raised in old gold mining towns, and in the town I am from, you can literally go out in the dirt road in front of my parents house and pan for gold after a good rain. I did it as a kid and it is something that he would like to do with our kids one of these days when we go to visit my parents. When it came in, they could not open it fast enough, with in a few minutes after it was delivered, my husband and our two eldest were in the bathroom panning for gold in our bathtub! When they got down to the gold, they had to yell for me to come in so I could see what they got, and sure enough, there were some flakes of gold in the dirt that came in our kit! They finished their panning then put the gold they got from the “Pay Dirt” into the glass vile that came with the kit. My husband and my kids were so excited to show everyone what they had got from the kit. We found this to not only make for a great Valentines Day gift to give the man in your life, but the entire family was able to have fun and pan for gold right in our very own bathroom! Now that they have seen that they can get gold, real gold, from panning, the kids and my husband are excited to plan their next trip to my parents and spend their time panning in the creek behind the house or in the street if it rains.
