DIY Valentines Day Cards with the Epson Expression Photo HD XP-15000

Valentines Day is coming soon, and like many who have kids, mine are not only excited for those valentine exchanges in their classrooms, but also making special valentines to give to their grandparents. With my kids, since their grandparents live far away, they like to create those valentines with enough time to send them in the mail before Valentines Day. They also like to do this by adding a personal touch to their valentines with photos to them. So when we were sent the new, Epson Expression Photo HD XP-15000 to review, we were not only excited to check it out, but use it for this years valentines to send!

First off, I found, just as I had expected with my experience with Epson printers, that the set up was very simple. Second thing that stood out for me, aside from this being a photo printer that allows me to print off a variety of sizes, I found the colors used were different than other printers I have in the home. This is because with the new Epson Expression Photo HD XP-15000, we get a photo printer that is designed to bring you more vibrant, detailed and HD quality photos, right from your own home!

These photos can be sent from your phone, taken from your camera or uploaded from your computer through your home WiFi, and keep the HD quality with both the color and black and white selections, due to the fact that with this new printer, we now get a new Red and Grey ink. The addition of the new colors is like night and day compared to other photos I have printed off from home in the past. Giving me the colors as I see them, in a HD quality, or black and white photos that offer more detail, where you might be able to see more due to the grey compared to a black and white photo printed off from a ordinary printer. Which for me, is why I decided to use this printer to print off the photos the kids are using this year for those valentines to send to their grandparents.

To create very adorable, yet simple valentines with your kids you will need the following materials:

Epson Expression Photo HD XP-15000
4×6 Epson Premium Photo Paper Glossy
Large paper heart doilies (found at local dollar store)
Small paper heart doilies (found at local dollar store)
Glue sticks (my kids love glitter glue but plain glue sticks work just as well)
Scissors

Once all of the supplies are gathered, we went through the various photos I have taken of the kids and let them pick out their favorite ones to add to their valentine. I then loaded the photo paper into the printer and printed off the photos. After the photos were done printing, the kids measured their photos, to cut out just the head that they would later attach to the valentine. The kids then took the large doilies and glued the smaller doily to the top, giving it a pretty layered look.

Then, once their doilies were together, we glued the cutout head shots we had printed off, to the middle of the smaller heart. My daughter decided to give the cards a more card like look by then gluing a second large heart doily to the top, which either way, gave us a very nice valentine to mail to their grandparents this year.

In all, we found the new Epson Expression Photo HD XP-15000 to be the perfect printer for having when we go to print off the many photos we take regularly. Allowing us to choose from a variety of sizes and get HD quality with each print we make, and you can too when you add this printer to your home!

Product received, thank you to Epson as well as the PR for supplying me with a product for this review, all opinions are my own.
