The Complete Idiot's Guide for Dummies Challenge

I was asked to take a challenge. The Complete Idiot’s Guide for Dummies Challenge. I chose to go with The Complete Idiot’s Guide to American History, 5th Edition vs the U.S. History for Dummies 2nd Edition. I have always loved learning about history, but after reading these books, I found that there is quite a bit that I did not know. I read both of these books and I not only learned quite a bit, but I also did notice quite a difference between the two books.

                                                                               VS.

I found that The Complete Idiot’s Guide went into more detail than the For Dummies did. The Complete Idiot’s Guide went over the 2008 presidential election in 14 pages vs the 2 pages that were in the For Dummies book. Both books had these great icons to point out certain facts, phrases and documents. I think that when it comes down to it I found that the Complete Guide was not only easier to read, but the amount of information compared to the For Dummies book was more. I really liked how The Complete Idiot’s Guide does not sugar coat US History, like you will find in your common text books. They really dig into the history and put the facts on the table for you to absorb. Now the For Dummies book also does not sugar coat history but they do not go in and add as much information as you will find in The Complete Idiot’s Guide. For me personally I am going to go with The Complete Idiot’s Guide!

lol, I know what you mean. My dad is a history and science buff and I have always had to be careful bringing up certain subjects because I would never understand the answer!
