By nature, kids are curious. They are curious about the world around them, and each and every day, I am amazed to see how much information they can absorb. It seems like from the time my kids wake up in the mornings, until they go to bed at night, they are exploring and asking questions. At home, when it comes to finding answers for some questions, I find that giving my kids a visual with an explanation when possible can help, and even though we have reference books available in the home, we find that utilizing the internet also helps feed that curiosity and answer questions! When my kids are home and using the computers or tablets when online, I can monitor where they go to, block certain sites and pop ups, making the internet use in my home safe.
Aside from the questions we might come across on a daily basis at home, I know that for the days that they are in school, teachers are also finding technology to help with feeding information to those little minds. The thing is, when we send our kids to school, we trust that they are kept safe both on the school grounds and online. We want to make sure that when they are using different tools, like the internet and search engines, they remain safe, and do not come up on unwanted ads or sites that are not ok for little eyes to view. So when I was told about Bing in the Classroom, I was relieved to know, that when my kids utilize this search tool, they can not only find the information they are seeking while they are in class, but they can also search sites that are safe, and get a free search when they search for information. Over the past 10 years or so, not only have I found utilizing the internet to be very handy for doing homework while I was in college, but as my own kids have gotten older, we have found the internet to be very useful for them as well. Knowing that when my kids are in school, and they are working on assignments in the classroom or library at the school, using the Bing in the Classroom platform, eases my mind. Not only because of the safe, ad free, private searches, but they can also find the information they need! Another plus about having Bing in the Classroom that can really help teachers, with the digital literacy lesson plans, and it is a free platform that can be utilized by all eligible K-12 schools across the U.S!
Aside from the safe search that Bing in the Classroom provides in schools, I like that when I use Bing Rewards at home, I can help schools, when I donate earned points, and those earned points go to donating Surface tablets to schools! You can help schools too by signing up for Bing Reward sand donating your earned points as well! Earn a Surface tablet for your school with Bing Rewards!

Oh gosh thank you for this! I've been super nervous about our son with school and all the horrible stuff online. You've really helped! When I was in school they did childlocks, but everyone knew the Google proxy that got around it :/ Looks like we're going to be a Bing family now!
