Being a family of 5 and having my husband be a full time college student, our budget is pretty tight. I am one who looks for all ways I can save my family money, so that we can stretch that budget as far as I can, and one place that I find a hard time finding ways to save money is when it comes to my husband’s text books. I mean, it is insane to think that there are some books that cost as much as $300 for some of his classes, and the book will only be used for a few months, until the semester is over, then he sells it back for a small fraction of the price he paid for the book. This week, the campus bookstore opened up for the Spring Semester, and yesterday we went to price the books so we can know how much we will need. Like his previous semesters, I found the prices from the bookstore to be outrageous. I had learned that we do not need to settle for those prices either. When my husband and I decided that he would go back to school to change careers, I researched any ways I could find to save our family money, so that we could make this happen. I found scholarships and grants that he applied for, and when it came to the books, I found that we did not have to bite the bullet and pay those outrageous prices for his books. Instead, I came across a site where we could rent those books each semester, for a very small fraction of what we would have paid had we paid full price for a new or even used text book at the campus bookstore. The site where we go to each semester to find some of my husband’s textbooks that we can rent instead of buying is CampusBookRentals.com. We found using this site can save us so much money. I mean, there are still some books, like the ones that are written by the professors that they put on the lists of books he needs, that we have to buy, but using the site CampusBookRentals.com for the other books that we can get on there, saves us so much money. We also do not have to worry about selling the books back and only getting a small fraction back on what we paid for the book only a few months prior. With CampusBookRentals.com, we can also sell some of the books that we have had to buy, so the next time a student who takes the same class that my husband took, can find the book and not have to pay the new or used book price, instead they can save that money and rent the books they need as well! Another feature we can use is the Rent Back, where we can rent out the books that we already own, and make money back on the books, and the fact that when we use the services from CampusBookRentals.com a portion of the proceeds goes to Operation Smile, makes using the site even more worth it! So as you are standing there in line at your book store, looking at and dreading those prices on the new and used textbooks, stop stressing and head on over to CampusBookRentals.com today and save some money!

A few years back I found out about Campus Rentals and then other sites for renting text books. This is the way to go if you feel you will not ever pick up your text book once you are done with that class. Renting text books have saved me a ton of money.
