It is no secret that Halloween is almost here, and for me the scarefest is on! It is the time to visit any and all haunted houses and prepare yourself for a night of fear and pulsating anxiety! This past weekend I started my journey with the local haunted houses, and my sister in law was suckered into enduring the fear filled night with me! As of the past couple of years, we were invited to the amazing Center City Mayhem, which was created by the AAYC (Amarillo Activity Youth Center). I find that Mayhem stands out from the rest because the set, the costumes and the actors are all done and there on volunteered time and donations! Another great fact is that even though you pay to get in, all of the proceeds go to the AAYC! Even though the sets are made by volunteers and the actors are also all volunteers, Mayhem is one of the scariest haunts around! You start your journey on the deck of a haunted pirate ship, then end up in a playhouse with possessed dolls and clowns, who are all about the tricks and not the treats! And once again, my sister in law and I found ourselves in that situation when you ask yourself, why do I put myself though this. I mean with me being terrified of clowns and my sister in law being the big ole chicken she is, we just keep setting ourselves up for not only a nightmare that we actually walk through and endure, but for fear that follows us all the way home due to the flashbacks of the scenes we came across while walking through this amazing haunt, it is like our own twilight zone!!!
The Haunted houses are voting on whom is the BEST Haunted House. Please take a moment to vote for Center City Mayhem; THANKS! http://kissfm969.com/vote-for-amarillos-best-scariest-haunted-house/
The pirate ship idea is cool! I really do not think I could take the haunted playhouse and dolls though.
we had an excellent time at Center City Mayhem this year. The crowd and line took a little while but it was well worth it and the line entertainment was crazy scary. When we left they recorded our comments and I am hoping to see them on youtube! They also gave us a great little map with most of the other haunted houses on them.
Oh, scary. I don't do scary anymore.
