Over the past decade or so, menswear has
undergone something of a revolution. Men are once again starting to take a
pride in their appearance. They want to look good, and are more than prepared
to put in the time and effort to do so.
Retailers have responded and are now
providing plenty of choice, which means shopping for clothes is now just as
easy for men as it is for women. In the past, some men were left behind because
they felt that most of the clothes out there were too fancy. The hipster and
workwear trends changed all that, and they are set to continue. From the looks
of things, rugged clothes are here to stay, for at least another year.
For my husband, who works outside, this is
very good news. It makes it easy for him to find good quality clothes that look
good as well as keep him warm and dry while he is working.
Lumberjack shirts
Check flannel shirts are still popular. Because
they are made from a mix of wool and cotton, they are great options for the
changeable spring weather. Natural fibres help your body to regulate its
temperature, so, naturally, they are particularly good choice for those who
spend a lot of time outdoors. They are also a great choice for those who like
activities like hiking, climbing and riding.
V-neck jumpers
In the past jumpers were not widely worn
by the hipster crowd, but that is set to change this year. Plain v-necks are
available practically everywhere you look.
Fur lined jackets
Good jackets are still an essential, and
there is an amazing choice. Bomber jackets are still popular, but they are a
bit lightweight for some men, so it is good to see heavier fur lined jackets
are still widely available. The changeable weather means that more men are
opting to wear two jackets. This is a good look that is also practical. A denim
jacket paired with a waterproof one is likely to prove a popular combination.
Earthy colours
For spring and summer, it looks like
russets and greens are going to be particularly popular. However, apparently
the must have shirt for 2017 will be a powder blue one, so this rangeof men’s denim shirts is bound to sell well.
Skinny jeans are still in
If your husband has a wardrobe full of skinny
jeans, the good news is he will still be on trend, because most designers are
continuing to include them in their range. However, leg widths are starting to
widen slightly with quite a few offering straight cuts as well.
Footwear
Work boots are still very popular, but
that trend is starting to give way to soft, ankle length lace ups. Coloured
laces are being used to add variety, and allow men to make their footwear blend
in better with what they are wearing.
Summer trends
The above are all winter/spring trends.
For the summer, cut off shorts, coupled with sleeveless shirts and t-shirts
made from natural fibres are set to form the basic wardrobe.
Great tips and styles for men!
I love Skinny jeans on a man. My husband has been really caring about his appearance and has been adding nice items to his wardrobe.
I did notice that men's clothing items have been evolving over the years. Sometimes I do like the new styles and sometimes I do not.twinkle at optonline dot net
