As we begin to get closer to Mothers Day, many of us who have since moved away from home, might find that at times like Mothers Day, we can get homesick. The same might go for those who are also mothers, who might not be close to home to celebrate with mom, but can celebrate with their own kids. This scenario is one that I am familiar with, and with that I like to both give and receive gifts that remind others of home. So when I was sent the Seattle Candle from the line up of Homesick Candles to review, I was excited to add it to my list of great Mothers Day gift ideas.
Now we might live in the Seattle area, but with this candle, we can get a scent that is unique, and when away from home, will surely remind me of home! I like the scent that this candle has is one that reminds me of those rainy afternoons, such as the one we are having today, where I can relax on the porch with a cup of coffee, take in all of the fresh scents that the rain creates and enjoy the day. The scents that are used and combined include the freshness of pine needles with lemon, cedar, and the distinctive fragrance of a great cuppa, along with a hint of rhubarb and a musky finish help tie it all together for a refreshing finish!
Then when it comes to finding more of those candles that can remind me of home, where I grew up and where my own mom resides. I like that I can add the New Mexico Homesick Candle to my collection, where I get those scents of chili peppers, spices and more that are what I expect when I go to visit! I also like that with the collection, aside from the state specific, I can get those city specific like the Seattle Candle we were sent. Which in all, gives you and your recipients a great gift that helps to bring some of those scents from home, with you, and makes for a great gift to give mom this Mothers Day! What a great idea for a candle and I can think of one friend who lives away from home who would love this. My Homesick candle would be the NorCal candle, it was tempting to pick Alaska but the scent I remember most from living there was fish.
