Our eight month old daughter has been sleeping in our bedroom since she was born, first in a bassinet right next to our bed and now in her crib. Now that she is a little older we have talked about converting the spare room into her very own bedroom. It’s just across the hall from the master bedroom, but I still wanted peace of mind. We have a eight and a half year age difference between our oldest child and our baby. We all know how much technology has changed in that time. Our outdated sound only monitor just wasn’t going to make the cut. We got to try out a Safety 1st HD WiFi Baby Monitor and I couldn’t be happier with it. It is a video monitor that connects to your smartphone through an app for both iPhone and Android, and it detects sound and movement with a cordless audio unit. I love that I can check on my baby from anywhere! The infrared night vision works very well so you can see your baby at nighttime and naptime. The camera can be wall mounted and comes with wall anchors and screws. I loved that I didn’t need to take a trip to the store for them in order to set it up. You can also set it up on top of a dresser if you want to be able to move it as needed. Set up was easy and quick!
The app sends custom alerts directly to your phone and the parent unit with movement or sound activity from your baby. The parent unit is small and easy to bring with you anywhere in the house. It’s perfect to use in your home office because it lights up and you can adjust the volume on it, so if you have a conference call you can turn down the sound and it will light up when your baby starts to fuss. Naptime is when I get me time and when I try to get everything done. I’m pretty sure I am not alone in this. Naptime is sacred!
