Tricks to a Successful Diaper Change with a Wiggly Baby!! #SlipOnHUGGIES

Changing a diaper can be a challenge at times. Little ones love to wiggle and squirm around. I know that those times when little ones just wont sit still for a diaper change, might be amusing and fun for your little one, but are not all that fun for the one changing the diaper. Both of my kids have always been quite playful, and from the moment they were able to wiggle around, they never stopped. My son was a little more active than my daughter was. Dont get me wrong, she did her share of squirming around, but he seemed to have more energy at any given moment, and he seemed to find it more amusing to make a mess and watch mommy and daddies faces when the messes came. He was our little wiggle worm. He wiggled from the time I was pregnant with him and he still cant seem to sit still. I know that all of that wiggling makes diaper changing very difficult and challenging. First you have to grab a hold of those little legs and try to keep them still with one hand. Then with the other hand, almost like a magician, you have to get the wipes, have a diaper ready, and prepare to change the bottom. Even when I had a good grasp on my sons legs, he still had a little body that would be wiggling all over the place. If there was something that was possibly in his reach, he would fight me with all he had to try and get it. If he had something in hand, he found it funny to get the reaction out of us to put the object he had in his messy diaper. So, we had to be very careful that there was not anything in his reach. My daughter was fairly simple. She loved getting her diaper changed, sure she wiggled, but if you gave her something to play with while changing her bottom, she would chew on it or play with it and let us finish with the diaper changing process. Not my son, he was literally a little stinker bottom, as I would put it, very devious. He would find it funny to put things in his diaper during a change, wiggle and try to kick his legs out of our hands, anything to make it more amusing for him, but more difficult for us. Oh and if he had socks on, he would try everything he could to try and take them off, and of course if he succeeded, the sock went into the diaper. So, changing our son was like a marathon task. We had to have everything ready, all set up and then the change had to be very fast. I learned to change diapers very quickly with him. It was a skill that I kinda had to acquire in order to have a successful diaper change! The diaper went under the one on him, wipes were on my arm, I grabbed his feet, held them, undid the dirty diaper, wiped his bottom, removed the dirty diaper while at the same time putting powder on his bottom, then putting the dirty diaper out of his reach and put the clean one on. Then before he could get to it, I would grab the dirty diaper, wrap it up, then dispose of it. We were his own personal pit crew, because as soon as we would finish the change he was off!!! I know that if we had the Huggies Little Movers Slip-On Diapers, diaper changes could be so much easier!!!!
