The Help on Blu-Ray and DVD December 6,2011!!!

One of the most amazing movies for 2011 is coming to Blu-Ray and DVD on December 6! The movie is The Help. Many have read the book and many have seen the movie, some have done both, and like many out there, I too loved The Help! This movie takes you back to a time that really was not that long ago. A time that my parents grew up in, where just about every Southern home had help. Help were the nannies who were African Americans, who took care of the Southern White babies and raised them. They also cleaned, cooked, and gardened for very little money. It was amazing to watch and think that this was a common thing. The Help were considered to be like beings that were not human, they were treated horribly and not at all as equals, not like the time that we live in today. I loved that they told the stories from the view of the Help, and how they showed things that I see as being a barbaric way of treating people. I love how the story goes into all of the wrong doings and even the way the government in the south handled things. My thing is, all of those employers and law makers I am sure, who had Help, were raised by the Help as well as having them raise their kids, so you would think they would have had more respect, because the Help seemed to be more involved than their own parents were in their raising. Both the book and the movie were amazing and you can own the movie on December 6th, so keep your eyes open and get The Help to bring home!

FEEDING AMERICA, the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity, and the DreamWorks Pictures movie THE HELP, are joining forces this holiday season to help feed Americans facing hunger.  Coinciding with the DVD/Blu-ray release of THE HELP on December 6, a national donation campaign will run from December 1 to December 11 to generate food and funds to help feed the 1 in 6 people in the United States who do not have enough to eat.
“The economic downturn really hurt American families,” said Feeding America Director of Media Relations Ross Fraser. “As a nation, we need to come together to help our neighbors who are struggling to make ends meet. The collaboration between FEEDING AMERICA and the producers of THE HELP is a great example of how we can come together to make a difference.”

“The film’s hopeful message of creating change along with its home entertainment release during the holidays inspired the team here to reach out and help make a difference in people’s lives,” noted Jeff Small, President and Chief Operating Officer of DreamWorks Studios. “FEEDING AMERICA seemed the perfect fit in that it operates nationally but is focused locally and housed within the communities it serves and will directly benefit those in need.  We’re happy THE HELP can help.”
