Painting the Nursery (Guest Post)

The New Arrival

Lots of first time mums
love getting everything ready before the baby’s born, it great to
walk round all the baby stores looking at the prams and cots and toys
and clothes. In fact you are probably driving your friends mad and
maxing out your credit card in all
your favourite baby stores

Decorating the Nursery
should be done a few months before the new arrival, so that it is all
ready and looking good, for baby’s first night. If you don’t
know whether you are having a girl or a boy, you might prefer to
paint the nursery a nutreal colour. Something relaxing like a pale
green or lilac is a good idea and you can then add some wall stickers
or frieze. Magic Wall has a great
range of stickers and murals.
Have a look at their website it
will give you some great ideas too.

One of the most important
things to remember when painting the nursery is to use paint without
toxins and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC’s). A typical VOC found
in paint is formaldehyde and paints that contain these ingredients
are said to cause respiratory problems, headaches and dizziness. The
online magazine Green Living
has some really useful information
about what paints to use in the nursery and tells you where you can
buy 100% toxin and VOC free paint products.

When you have decided on
your colour scheme and put up your wall friezes, it’s time to pick
the furniture. If you can, spend a bit more and look ahead to when
baby is bigger. For example a lot of cot manufacturers now make
costs, which turn into beds and there are a wide range of drawers
available that are wide enough to accommodate a plastic changing mat,
rather than buying a changing station.

The most important item
for the nursery is the cot. Buy a cot that adheres to safety
standards. For examples the slats of a cot should be close together
so that a baby can’t get his head stuck. Make sure the mattress
fits properly and that there are no gaps for baby to slip into.

New cots now have teething
rails, which means your baby isn’t biting into the wood when he
starts to want to chomp down on hard surfaces. An adjustable height
feature is also useful, so that you can drop down the height as baby
get bigger and stronger, and thinks getting out of the cot might be a
good idea. Drop down sides will make it easier for you to put baby in
and out.

If baby’s due near the
end of the month and your all spent up, you can go online and visit
the payday loans site Wonga
. If approved they can give you the
little bit extra you need until payday and you can have everything
bought and assembled in plenty of time. You never know, your new
arrival might want to come earlier than expected, so being prepared a
while before, makes good sense.

It is a good idea to prepare baby's room a few months in advance. We used craigslist to find some great deals, especially on furniture. However I would never use any payday loans to get advances on money, they have extremely high interest rates…not a good idea at all.

I agree with you Pam..A payday loan is almost certainly not the answer if you need the money to pay household bills, rent or a mortgage, or to pay back people you owe money to.
