The holiday season is upon us and with that comes the dreaded cold and flu season. It seems that this is the time of year when we are not only sharing gifts, meals and one anothers company, but we also share a lot of germs. Recently there was a study done called the “Good Germs, Bad Germs” study which was conducted by the Hygiene Council. Of the 17,000 moms that were surveyed, they found that a little over half of the moms thought that E. Coli was harmful, while 72% believe MRSA is harmful. They found that 29% thought that being too clean and not killing the germs in their homes could increase allergies in their children, and only 43% were concerned with their kids coming into contact with germs. With this past year being the highest for the flu in 10 years, I find that ensuring we keep our home free of the harmful germs and bacteria, helps to ensure everyone stays healthier. So as you are preparing for the holidays, it is ideal to make sure that when your guests come visit your home, they not only arrive with jolly spirits, but they also leave with nothing more than the gifts and hospitality you give them. To help with the cleaning and ensuring you do not spread any unwanted germs and viruses with your family and guests, stock up on Lysol products, from the hand soaps to the cleaning products and have a very Merry Christmas!
