#ad #Listerine Kicking Off Our 21 Day Challenge

When it comes to the mouth, it can be a very dirty thing. Even if you brush several times a day, you can still miss quite a bit. Did you know that brushing your teeth alone, you can miss up to 75% of your mouth? For me, just thinking about how much is missed when we brush, even when we brush 3 times a day, is quite discerning. Well to help change our brushing routine in my home, we have taken on the Listerine 21 Day Challenge. To get started I headed to my local Target to pick up some products for the whole family. I bought a bottle of the Listerine Antiseptic for myself and my husband to use, a bottle of the Listerine Smart Rinse for the kids, some Listerine Whitening Original Gel Fluoride Anticavity Toothpaste and some Reach Floss for all of us to use during the challenge. We may brush 3 times a day, but I was not fully aware of the fact of how much of our mouths we miss from brushing alone. So, yes, I must say that I was a bit concerned for my families oral health, but we are all excited to take on this challenge that Listerine has given us and change our families oral care habits! As far as any previous oral care issues, myself, my husband, and Estrella, have all dealt with cavities, so changing the way we do things in our routine is something that is needed. For myself and my husband, we use mouthwash on a daily basis, but I had never considered making my kids use a mouthwash as well. In fact, until this past week when we started our challenge, I had only used mouthwash in the mornings after brushing, so changing things up and using the Listerine Antiseptic each time I brush, and also having the kids use the Listerine Smart Rinse, which is alcohol free, when they brush should make quite a difference. As far as flossing goes, well I am guilty of only flossing when I get something in my teeth, so also adding that to all of our routine each day should also prove to make a difference as well. When we kicked off our new oral hygiene routine, one thing the kids mentioned was how much it tingled when they rinsed, and I was worried that they would not want to continue using the mouthwash each time, but they have stuck to it. I also decided that we would take the challenge together, so we can make sure the kids do everything right and they can also watch us to see how we do it, and so far, so good! We are enjoying this new challenge and seeing and smelling the difference in my families oral health is showing to be very beneficial, I know that we just started, and I hope that in the next few weeks, this new routine will stick and become the new norm in our home. So stay tuned for updates as we take on the 21 Day Challenge! Well to get a new oral routine started for yourself and your family, you too can get involved and take on the Listerine 21 Day Challenge. Also as you begin taking on your own challenge, be sure to share photos of your own “Swish Selfies” on the Listerine Facebook page, where you can enter to win one of their weekly $500 prizes as well as help kids in need! With each “Swish Selfie” that is posted, on the Listerine’s Brand Facebook page, they will make a $5.00 contribution to Oral Health America’s Smiles Across America program, up to $85,000, toward their goal of connecting 210,000 children with needed oral health services in 2014!
