Making a Change with the Sara Lee® Delightful Breads

With the holidays, many think, it is okay to splurge, it is just once a year. I mean, we end up spending more money over the holidays, splurging on those gifts that we would not buy any other time of year, so why not splurge on the food, right? So when I was given the chance to learn more about the Sara Lee® Delightful Breads as part of the Sara Lee® Delightful Breads campaign, I was excited to not only share my story on weight loss, but also share some info on the breads!

Well, if you remember my own story, when, if you track back 2 years ago, I realized that those times of, oh what will one hurt, and I will start my diet tomorrow, landed me 200 pounds over weight? Yeah, it did, and it was not until I had my third baby, while I was at the park with my kids, and realized that I was “that” mom. The one who can not get up to play and keep up with her kids, the one who was too embarrassed to go out to school and sporting functions, because I was too self conscious of how I looked. That I realized it and to make the change. It was the reality of the fact that I was not the mom I had visioned being when I first had kids, but when I had gone to my Dr, I realized that I was too young to be on heart medications, have blood pressure issues, and have breathing issues that were all weight related. So instead of sitting and waiting for a change, I made the change.

I took it into my own hands, by first getting rid of the sugary sodas that I lived on. It was not easy by any means, but it was a first step. I began replacing the soda with water, and from there I quit going for that second piece of cake and eating any sweets I came into contact with. I started a great diet program, where my menu was planned out each day, from the meals to the snacks, and I even kept track of the water I drank. Once I got to a point where I could get off of some of the medications I was on, I started going to the gym, finding that I could do it! Now I am not going to say that I am a saint when it comes to the watching what I eat, I have my moments, but, when I start to splurge, I just think back on where I was 2 years ago and how far I have come.

I find motivation in knowing that by making the little changes, they can all add up, and create a big change. For me, I still have a goal that I am working towards, and even though I have hit that plateau, I still see the changes, even if they are small and gradual. I also find motivation in the stories of others, knowing that I am not the only one who has struggled with weight and who has made the decision to make a change. I still continue to seek out those products, the ones that I adore, but that offer a better choice for me when it comes to the caloric intake. I think like many out there, one thing that I adore, that I still go for, is the bread.

I like having bread on hand, for those afternoon sandwiches, some toast in the morning, or even for a snack where I add some kind of spread to it, but one thing that I do not like about bread, is the calories. So when I was introduced to the Sara Lee® Delightful Breads, I was not only excited to know that I could find a great selection of the breads, but at just 45 calories per full size slice, I can enjoy the bread without having any guilt!

I have enjoyed some of the breads from the Delightful Breads line, and with the new flavor of Oatmeal, I can enjoy that along with the 100% Whole Wheat, Healthy Multi-Grain and Wheat! I like that the Delightful Breads are heart healthy, and can provide me with a excellent source of fiber with each serving. They also contain no artificial colors, flavors, or high fructose corn syrup. I also like that I can use the Sara Lee® Delightful Breads just like any other bread, as a snack, for toast, for my sandwiches and more, and that I can find the Delightful Breads at supermarkets nationwide! Making the breads from Sara Lee® Delightful Breads a great line of bread to add to those resolutions this year, and also help with getting a head start on those resolutions over the holidays!

Well, on top of finding ways to make a change when it comes to those weight loss goals, like myself, I find that sharing those stories and reading the stories of others, not only helps when it comes to motivation, but also when it comes to keeping on track! So share your own stories, whether you have a weight loss story, or a goal and you are ready to make the change, and enter to win in the 45 Delightful People program, where you can not only enter to win by sharing your story, but just by sharing you can get a free shirt!
