#Giveaway Making it Safer in the Car with the Diono Rainier

With the snow continuing to fall, and those days of driving around in it not quite coming to a end, we find that ensuring that our families are safe while we are driving on the snow and ice is a priority. We take the time to warm up the vehicles, get the snow and ice off of them so we can see, ensure our kids are wearing weather appropriate clothing, and strap them into their car seats, where they can be secured in place and kept safe. Like other parents out there, I want to ensure, that when we are in our vehicles, especially when the roads are slick, that my kids are secured properly in their seats. To do so, I like to know that I have the equipment needed, that is size appropriate, that will not only secure my kids in when I use them, but car seats and boosters that are also easily secured to the vehicle as well. One seat that I had heard about, that gauged my curiosity was the Rainier from Diono, so when we were sent the Rainier to review from Diono, I was excited to check it out

With the Rainier, we get a Convertible + Booster Car Seat, that can be used on children starting from birth at 5 pounds all the way up to 120 pounds. The features include a seat that starts out as a rear facing car seat for infants and small children up to 50 pounds, than turned around for kids 50 – 90 pounds, using the 5 point harness. This seat can then be used as your children grow, up to 120 pounds, as a booster seat.

From a parents perspective, I like that the Rainier is not only a car seat that can grow with children from birth up to the booster seat stage, but I also find the ease of installation with the SuperLATCH™ system to be a plus for me. When it comes to the safety features, I can really appreciate the 5 point harness, and the ease of adjusting it as my little one grows. With this seat you will find that there are 12 height positions, along with EPS foam which surrounds the child’s head and body for complete side impact protection.

Then from my toddler’s perspective, aside from him feeling like such a big boy in his new seat, he likes that he can easily keep his sippy cup at his side using the cup holder. He also seems to really like the comfort that this seat offers, due to the fact that he had no problem falling asleep while he runs errands with me. Which in all, makes the Rainier from Diono a great seat to have for anyone who is expecting a little one, or even has older little ones, since it is a car seat that grows with your kids!

    Of course, the extra safety features like reinforced sides and secure harness are awesome. I also really like the fact the cover is machine washable. It is a nice touch that is often times overlooked.Thanks!

    I have been eyeing this convertable seat for a while! I would love to get it for my son, as our car has a small backseat and my son is long and lean. I would like to keep him rear facing for as long as possible, and this seat would make that possible!!

    Aside from the safety features, one of the best things is that it will convert to a booster (although I think it unlikely that my grandchild would be in it at 120#!).
