With back to school on the minds of many out there, I find
that there is a lot to do and get done in order to ensure that we can start our
school year off right. One of the things that I know can be stressful for me
and others is coming up with those back to school menus for the whole family. I
find that with the school year, our schedules can be quite hectic, and so for
me, I like to have a menu ready so I know what I will be cooking and serving to
my family. So when we were sent the Philips Air Fryer to review, I was curious
to check it out and see what I could make with it.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that unlike other fryers
out there, with the Philips Air Fryer, I can have a fryer that does not use any
oils to cook the foods. In fact, I can create those fried foods that my family
likes but that I prefer to stay away from due to the oils and fats that are
added when I fry those same foods with the air fryer.
I also like that when we use our air fryer, I get a product
that cooks the foods all the way through, and a lot faster than other
appliances I might use for cooking with. I can even cook foods that do not
require frying, and get a faster cooking time with those foods, like when we
want to cook some seafood or even steaks.
In fact, we found many options that were available when
using our Philips Air Fryer, giving us a product that allows us to cook various
foods from the appetizers to the dessert, that also helps save time. Well, once
we had started trying out some of the foods that we enjoy, I found that I could
even make those favorite empanada dishes that my family likes, without using
the extra fats to fry them in, and deliver an amazing flavor that everyone was
able to enjoy.
For the empanadas, we were able to use some cooked chicken,
shredded cheese, and a can of biscuits. We rolled out each of the biscuits,
then put some chicken and shredded cheese in the middle. After that, we folded
the biscuits, then used a fork to press the two ends together, then placed the
empanadas in the Philips Air Fryer for about 10 minutes. After they were cooked
through, we added some salsa and avocado to the top and served them.
Then for dessert, I used the remainder of the biscuits and
cut them in half. I put in some apple pie filling in each of the halves, folded
the tops over and used the fork to press the ends together. I then placed those
smaller dessert empanadas in the air fryer for about 10 minutes, then took them
out, sprinkles a cinnamon and sugar mix on the top, and put a scoop of ice
cream with them. Giving my family a delicious empanada dinner that was simple
to put together and did not take a whole lot of time to cook! Making this air fryer a must have to to item for any kitchen!
So this back to school season, as you prepare those menus for your family, be sure to go with the Philips Air Fryer!
