Ask any new mom what she wants and the answer pretty much every time is a good night’s sleep. I also wouldn’t say no to an uninterrupted shower either but, let’s not go crazy! The number one thing that helped all three of my babies sleep better, hands down was swaddling them. Today we bring you the Swaddle Designs Swaddles and Blankets.
As a mom, I’m always looking for the smartest designed products for my baby. I want easy to use, safe items especially when it comes to sleepwear. Due to all of the safety campaigns, we know the phrase “back to sleep’ and “back is best”. We also know that a bare crib without bumpers and blanket is the way to go, however, I live in Minnesota. I want my baby to be warm, cozy, and safe. That’s why I jumped at the chance to try safe sleepwear from Swaddle Designs.

Review: Swaddle Designs Swaddles and Blankets
I tried the 6-12 month size zzZipMe Sack Wearable Blanket in a super soft flannel for my daughter that comes in multiple fabric choices for your environment. The fabric prints they have are adorable.
All three styles have a two-way zipper for night time diaper changes. I love that I don’t have to take everything off just to change a diaper. The Swaddle and the Transitional Swaddle Sack both have fold over mitten cuffs to protect baby from scratching that sweet little face and waking up as a result.
Lynette Damir, RN, CEO and Creative Director, founded SwaddleDesigns in 2002. The inspiration for SwaddleDesigns was sparked when Lynette visited families with new babies in their homes and she noticed the parents were very sleep deprived. They weren’t swaddling and consequently, no one was getting much sleep. They weren’t swaddling for two reasons. First, the blanket they were using was too small or too thick, and second, they could not remember how to make a good secure swaddle. The parents consistently asked her to share the secret of the hospital nurses – how to swaddle.
Lynette used her medical background and design education from the Art Institute of Seattle to develop the Ultimate Swaddling Blanket – large and square with swaddling instructions sewn to the edge of the blanket, so parents have an effective swaddling technique at their fingertips. SwaddleDesigns first customer was a major hospital that purchased 4,000 blankets! They understood the importance of swaddling and the educational value of Lynette‛s blanket.
I have several friends who are pregnant right now and I think sleepwear is a perfect shower gift for me to give them. A great quality sleepsack with stylish design is on my list of must-have baby items.
