Summer is in full swing! And with the nice weather, many parents want to get their kids out of the house and outside to do fun activities. But it can be surprisingly difficult to find activities that the whole family will enjoy. So to help make this summer the best one yet, here are a few activities you can enjoy with your family.
Go On Vacation
With the kids out of school, summer is the perfect time to take a family vacation. While a recent study found that 59% of people would rather have a relaxing vacation than an active one, it’s up to you to decide what’s best for your family. The perfect vacation should consist of some down time to enjoy the sunshine but also have some fun-filled activities. If you’re going to the beach, it will be a great opportunity to enjoy nature. The kids can play in the water, collect seashells, and try to spot some sea creatures. Or you could go for more of a camping adventure and really delve into nature on your vacation. Hiking, cooking around the campfire, and star gazing can be the perfect summer vacation. But no matter what kind of vacation you choose, taking the family somewhere for some R&R could be the perfect thing to do this summer.
Try Something New
Instead of sitting around the house all summer doing the same thing day after day, why not try something new? There are tons of different activities that you and the family can enjoy together: things like petting zoos and indoor parks are great for younger kids. Or if your kids are a little older, trying more physically active activities could be fun. Even though 19% of escape room participants are corporate clients, escape room games can be a great family bonding experience. Laser tag, go-karts, and mini golf can all be fun too! Overall, it’s important to try to get the family up and out of the house. Trying new indoor activities can be a great way to escape the summer heat, too.
Start a Garden
What better way to enjoy the summer sun than to get outside and do some gardening? Landscaping and gardening is not only a fun activity, but it can help make your house look even more beautiful. Furthermore, adding landscaping and gardens to your outdoor area can actually protect your home. With a burglary being committed every 15 seconds in the U.S., it’s important to do what you can to protect your home. And adding landscape and garden elements can make it more difficult for those with ill intent to get close to your home. If you’re looking to add even more fun to gardening for younger kids, try adding some fairy garden elements! The kids will love adding houses and figurines for the fairies to enjoy. Or if you’re looking to teach your kids about sustainability and the importance of local farming, consider taking a trip to the farmers market nearby. Any one of these gardening activities will sure to be a hit with the whole family.
Hopefully we gave you some great ideas for new things to try. Whether you’re going camping or trying a new activity, spending time with your family will be the real source of fun this summer.

awesome
These are fun ideas, we like to go on vacation but our girls are grown. One is at home, one is married. We did manage to go on a weekend trip recently to Mackinac Island, just the four of us. 🙂
