With the kids home for the summer break and those electronic devices being used more and more, as parents and caregivers, we find that we want to ensure that when our families are connected that they are safe. We do this by having passwords for certain sites, and also by trusting that our children will follow the rules we set forth when it comes to being on the internet. The thing is, regardless of rules and passwords, that when the kids are connected and viewing things online, they can still stumble across sites and apps that might not be appropriate. This can happen as they are watching videos where those videos we do not want them to see might pop up in a side bar, or as they are online, an ad pops up that can take them to a site that is not appropriate, leaving our kids vulnerable. And as a parent, I seek out the products that can help to make that time spent being connected, a safer time, and more enjoyable for everyone. So when I was introduced to Circle with Disney, which can be found at Best Buy, I was curious to learn more about how it works, and also try it in my home with my family.
When I first went to open up my new Circle with Disney, I was pleased to see the information enclosed, see how compact the Circle is, and also curious to find that I can take this protection to go with Circle Go.
Once the Circle with Disney is connected to your home connection, you can then manage all of the connected devices right from the Circle with Disney app that you add to your phone. From there we can filter the content that the kids can view, limit the amount of time they are on their devices, and even set the devices to turn off on their own say goodnight at a set bedtime, which is great for those of us who have teens!
This not only gives us the access to set the screen time limits, but also gives us the control to set time limits on the daily screen time we choose to set for certain platforms, apps, and categories, painlessly. Along with the time limits and bedtimes we can set for the kids, I found the pause option to be yet another great feature that until now, I did not know I needed in my home. This feature allows us to pause the internet for each child, so that we can do homework, chores, or pause for family time!
When it comes to the other features like the filters features, I like that we can set filters individually for each person that is connected. Allowing us to choose the filters that are appropriate for the various ages and interests of the kids in the home, and once it is done per person, it will apply to all of the devices that each person has. I can even look back at the time spent online with each child, so I can see whether we have gone up in time, what has been viewed by seeing the sites and interests each person has and where time might have been wasted in one place.
Then with the Circle Go, we can continue to monitor and control our children’s devices even when they are not at home and even when they connect to another WiFi. Giving parents and caregivers control over the home when it comes to being connected, and take that control over connected devices on the go with the Circle Go!
So if you are seeking a solution to screen times, to finding a way to have more control over what your kids see, and do this not only in the home but when they are away from home, be sure to head to your local Best Buy or go online to BestBuy.com and get the Circle with Disney as well as Circle Go!
Wow! This sounds really great! We limit screen time in our home and restrict internet access, but it is hard to keep track the more kids you have. This seems like a good solution!
This is a really good way to monitor all the internet at home and see what is going on. I do not feel safe on the internet if my kids do not have filters. I will have to look into getting the Circle.
I never heard of Circle with Disney before this. It sounds terrific and useful. I do like to shop at Best Buy too.twinkle at optonline dot net
