When
it comes to Mother’s Day, as moms we find that it is a day where we reflect on
what all makes us moms. Whether we are moms, grandmas or caregivers, we take on
a role of caring, teaching, and nurturing our kids, and with that we have a day
set aside where we not only honor those mother figures who helped to raise us,
we also find that our own little ones honor us as well. Like many kids who join
in to help with making Mother’s Day extra special for mom, mine will be doing
so as they do every year in creating a Mother’s Day Brunch, and with Estrella, this year will
be an extra special one. I say this because this year, she will be the one
taking over creating and setting up of our Mother’s Day Brunch, and she will be doing so by heading to our local
Walmart where she can find the Thomas’ and Tyson Foods’ products she
will need to bring her brunch set up together!
For this year’s Mother’s Day Brunch, my daughter decided
to make breakfast sandwiches, bagel bites, and apple butter topped pound cake.
But instead of breakfast sandwiches that are ready to eat, she decided to make
some build your own breakfast sandwiches. To get started, we picked up a Sara
Lee® Pound Cake, Jimmy Dean® Premium Pork Sausage, Hillshire Farm® Smoked
Sausage, Thomas’ Pre-sliced Plain Bagels, Thomas’ Original
Nooks & Crannies English Muffins, and then created a jar of homemade apple
butter.
For the bagel bites, Estrella decided that she would
toast the bagels and cut each bagel slice into 4 smaller pieces then place the
pieces in a basket. Along with the bagel pieces, she also cut up some cheese
and some Hillshire Farm smoked sausage that she cooked and put
in a separate bowl. With this bagel bite set up, it allows us to enjoy our own
creations as we start with a bagel piece, add a piece of sausage then top with
a piece of cheese.
To go with the “make your own breakfast sandwich” theme,
Estrella also toasted the Thomas’ English muffins, buttered
them, and placed the muffins in another basket. From there she cooked the Jimmy
Dean pork sausage into small sausage patties, cooked some scrambled
eggs and put each in their own separate bowls to be made into breakfast
sandwiches. We then took the English muffins and opened them up, placed a spoon
full of eggs on one slice, topped with a sausage patty, then placed the other muffin
slice on top to create a very delicious breakfast sandwich.
Then to help to bring a little sweet treat to Estrella’s
Mother’s Day Brunch set up, Estrella sliced the Sara Lee pound
cake like bread and placed it on a cutting board. She then got one of the
homemade apple butter jars that we made together out of the pantry and put it
next to the pound cake to top the pound cake with! Which when it all came
together, made for a very delicious brunch set up that is sure to make any
Mother’s Day Brunch one that you and your kids can enjoy together when you
include the products from Tyson Foods and Thomas which
can be found at Walmart!
So as you prepare your menu for Mother’s Day this year
for your mom, be sure to head to Walmart and pick up the products from Tyson and Thomas’!
