Holiday Meals with Rookie Chef

When it comes to the seasons and the holidays coming up, I find that I spend more time in my kitchen. I enjoy baking and cooking meals for my family and friends, and when it comes to my kids, well they enjoy helping out as well. The thing is, with my preschooler and even 8 year old, they are not quite as tall as their older sister, and when they want to pitch in with some of the prep work, well they can be limited to what all they can do. So when we were sent the Rookie Chef Starter Kit to review, I was very excited to put it together so I could surprise my kids and also add it to my list of great gifts to give this holiday season!

After unboxing our Rookie Chef Starter Kit, we found all we needed to put together the kitchen island cart along with a great selection of kitchen tools that my kids can use when they help me in the kitchen! I was able to follow the instructions given in the video below to get started on putting together the cart. Along with the helpful video, we also added some olive oil to the top of the cart to help treat the wood and allow us to keep the top looking amazing for continued use.

Once the Rookie Chef Island Cart was all put together, we were ready to begin cooking! My preschooler was beyond excited, the cart is at just the right height for him, and the tools are made to allow him to help a little more in the kitchen. Along with the tools, he found the gloves along with the apron and towel that was attached, to be perfect for completing his little chef look, and we were ready to begin!

For the first use of the tools and our Rookie Chef Island Cart, we decided that a fresh chicken noodle soup was a great choice to go with to help warm everyone up. The kids liked this option because it allowed them to take turns using the various tools that came in the accessories bundle of kitchen tools.

We found that the kids enjoyed being able to help with the cutting the of the vegetables, minus the peppers, to use in our soup. I also liked that I was able to allow them to use the tools under my supervision with very little redirection on how to use them.

Then when it came down to the features that the kids said they liked best they all liked that they could keep their kitchen tools in their cart, and keep the items such as the spoons and spatulas they like to use in the drawer. They also all agreed that they like that the cart has wheels on it, which allows us to store it away easily and them to wheel it out when they are helping in the kitchen. Along with these comments about the Rookie Chef products I found that I liked the height aspect, giving my kids a cart that they can work from without having to stand on stools, and I like that with the various tools, that my kids will be ready to help out when it comes to preparing those holiday meals and more! Making the Rookie Chef Starter Kit a great set to go with when it comes to making your kitchen more kid friendly so your little chefs can feel more included in the work!

Product received, thank you to Rookie Chef as well as the PR for supplying me with a product for this review, all opinions are my own.
