Show Your #PetcureanLove this Weekend in Seattle

When it comes to rescue pets, we have found that they are just fur babies who are in search of someone to love and take care of them. With Chloe, she is no exception, and when it comes to her story, we see it as she was just waiting for our family to make her part of the family. Well, just like our Chloe, there are many very sweet and lovable dogs out there, who just like a child, want to be loved, hugged and taken care of. So when we were told about the Petcurean Love Tour that will be in Seattle this weekend, I was excited to not only share the event but also attend with my family.

At the event in Redmond, it will be held at Marymour Park. There will be live adoptions, pet hugging, prizes to be won and more for the whole family to enjoy. You can read the event details in the flyer at the beginning of this post. And just like our Chloe did years ago when we first met her, there will be many pets in attendance who will be seeking and eagerly awaiting that forever home.

I have learned that when it comes to a forever home for a pet, it is not only life changing for the pet, but also for the home in which that pet is adopted into. When we went to have our first meeting with Chloe, she was very scared and shy and we were told that they were worried she would not be adopted, but we saw something in her sweet personality that stood out to us. Chloe had a rough start to her life and had not been treated very well by her original owners. She had a few litters of puppies and with her last litter she was surrendered by the owner to a local vet. She had gotten sick and was having complications and needed an emergency c-section. When the vet took a look at her he right away noticed the neglect and abuse that she had endured and he not only helped her and took her in, but nursed her back to health after she had her puppies so that she could find her forever home.

When we were introduced to Chloe for the first time, my husband and I went to meet her. We spent about an hour with her so that she could check us out and see if we were who she was looking for. After that first meeting my husband and I knew we were in love with her, so we scheduled a second meet up with her so she could meet our daughter and infant son. When she saw our daughter, she lit up. It was like she was hoping we had other kids for her to play with, and when she met our middle son who was just a small baby at the time, we knew that she would be perfect because she had a very gentle, loving nature about her that showed when she went to look at the baby.

It was about a week later when Chloe was able to finally come home, and once she was home she began to really open up. At first she was scared of anyone she did not know and crowds, but after a few months she became a whole new dog and was excited to go on walks to greet the neighbors in the evenings and head to the local dog park to play with her friends. Chloe became what I remember seeing the dog “Nanny” from Peter Pan being like with our kids as they have grown up. She is very sweet and loving towards them, even when babies have crawled on her and pulled on her ears, she has always been very gentle with them. And as our kids have grown, as we have introduced new babies in our family, Chloe has been right there, playing a big part of being a protector, fur baby, and companion! So if you and your family are looking for that fur baby who can help to make your home more complete, be sure to check out the Petcurean Love Tour!

We don't have any pets right now, but I'd love to get a dog for my son.
