See when I think of my mom, I think of a woman who raised myself, my sister, and as she might see it, my dad as well. I see her as a tough mother because growing up, she had her rules that she stood by, and even with all of the rules, all of the behavior and rebellion she had to deal with, she always showed us her love whether it be with a hug and kiss, or with a look that said as much even when she was mad.

She not only showed myself and my sister her unconditional love, but she also showed my dad love as well, which taught me that love is something that continues to grow and that is something that can be given to more than one person in your life. I also learned that even after the teen years, which many will say can be the most challenging, that no matter what my sister and I did, mom was the one who was there for us and who taught us lessons along the way and who showed us forgiveness. And when I think of the tough mother in my life, my mom comes to mind because she is not just my mom but also a person I admire.
