It is hard to believe, but the school year is almost over. I mean, it seriously seems like yesterday that we were beginning this school year, celebrating the mission ahead, and now, in just a couple of weeks, this year will be over with and the summer break will begin! For my kids, we like to mark each end of the school year with something fun, like going on a surprise vacation taking off the last day of school, having a get together with some of their friends, and also having a class party. Well with this year ending, my kids are not only marking the end of the year as completed with their friends, but they are also marking this being the last year they will be at the school they have been attending, because in just weeks, we will be moving from Texas to Washington, starting the school year in a whole new town and school.
So with that in mind, we wanted to make this year extra special when it came to the end of the year party, and since Robert’s birthday is next month, we decided to throw a party, one to not only celebrate his birthday with friends here before we leave, but also one to mark, Mission 1st Grade, complete! We went with the military style party because it seems that with Robert and his friends, they are always role playing that they are on special missions, so what better way to end the 1st grade school year, than a Mission Complete Party! And to help make this party a success, we were sent a pack filled with goodies from the wonderful people at Oriental Trading!
Over at Oriental Trading, we were able to find the pieces we needed, in order to make the mission of having this fun party, a success! When I saw the camouflage table cloth, then the tableware that had the military look to it that included the cups and napkins, I found that the rest of the party came together nicely!
We were able to find the favors to give the kids, for both the boys and girls in his class to enjoy, which included a fun canteen, camouflage dog tag necklaces, army style sunglasses, camouflage binoculars, and some camouflage gliders that we were able to put all into a fun drawstring camouflage drawstring bag for each of the kids!
The kids loved having their own drawstring bags filled with their goodies, and within minutes of giving them their goody bags, the kids were already to start celebrating the completion of Mission 1st Grade! They right away put on the sunglasses and dog tag necklaces, filled up their canteens to keep them hydrated during the party, put on their binoculars, and started a fun race with their camouflage gliders! Making our Mission 1st Grade Complete Party, a success, and one that Robert and his friends will remember when they look back on the end of their 1st grade school year!
