When I think of the holidays, I think of family and traditions. From the sharing of laughter, catching up on things since we are so far away from one another, and the yearly shopping that we look forward to. We not only enjoy sharing a great meal on Thanksgiving, but as with a lot of other families out there, we also have our yearly tradition of Black Friday shopping! This is a tradition that we partake in every year, and the planning of this tradition is one that we take very seriously. From the scouring of the ads, to marking the times and even the maps of the stores, so we can not only get our hands on those sales each year, but we can divide and conquer, and make the shopping experience a memorable one!
Over the years, we have always had someone watch the kids as we embark on our yearly tradition of lining up for those Black Friday sales, but this year is going to be a little different, a little more special than previous ones, because Estrella asked if she could join in on the fun! She has asked in previous years, but I had always thought of her being a little too young, and since this year will also be a first for a couple of her good friends, we decided to make it her first year of Black Friday shopping as well!!!
To get started, we have been looking the ads, looking for those sales and deals on the items that are on the tops of our shopping lists this year. Estrella has found the preparations to be a lot of fun, by going through the ads with us, then matching up ads to find the best deals and add those deals to our list of stops. On that list of must have items, we have not only certain toys that have made the list, but also those must have electronics and gaming systems, and one place that we are marking this year, as like previous years, will be Target!

Like many, we want to get our hands on the XBOX One, and after looking over the various ads for this years Black Friday, we did see that the price will be the same, but Target will have an extra incentive by offering a $50 gift card with the purchase of the XBOX One. Making Target our stop for a lot of great sales to be had, including the XBOX One!
Once we have our lists of the best deals and have found the stores where we will be going, we then go over the times on when they will be opening the doors and the times that the items we are after go on sale. This is something that I am currently teaching Estrella, since she was unaware of the time thing when it comes to those Black Friday sales.
Then, when those ads, times and maps have been made, we begin to get other preparations in place. Like looking up the weather for Black Friday, and ensuring we have the proper attire for the adventure. Along with the attire, I also like to make sure we have our own travel mugs filled and ready with a hot beverage of our choice, and since this will be a first year, with hopefully many more to come, for Estrella, we have added a travel mug just for her that she will be using this year! In all, making this year a year to remember when it comes to our tradition of Black Friday shopping!
So as you make your plans for the Black Friday shopping, be sure to get your ads ready, mark the stores, times and also be sure to dress properly and even bring a hot beverage to keep you warm while you await the sales!
