When we prepare for a new baby, there are many concerns that can cross an expecting parents mind. From the worries of pregnancy, ensuring baby is healthy at every appointment, to the delivery, hoping that everything goes as planned. These are concerns that we all have, and in those plans we make, we find that they do not always go exactly as we plan. I know the downside of things, the heartache of plans not going the way we want them to all too well. In 2007, my husband and I were expecting our first son, and at just 21 weeks, the plans we had changed in an instant, when our little guy became a angel. When it happened I remember thinking, why me, why us, but the truth of the matter is, we can not truly prepare for anything in life, instead, we can just take life for what it is and keep going, taking moments like that with us, to grow on, embrace, and never forget.
Our loss was not something I would wish upon anyone, it was and still is one of the hardest things I have had to deal with in life. Unfortunately, no matter how much I wish all pregnancies go as planned for my friends and family, as a mommy to a angel I know all to well, it does not, and there is no way of foreseeing a tragedy. In June, my sister in law and her family were preparing for their own little one, and in what seemed a all too familiar situation, their precious baby boy became a little angel to watch over them. I can remember hearing the news and feeling the pain of the loss, remembering what it was like to feel as if the world had just stopped.
My heart was heavy for them, and in their time of recovering from the loss, I had a lady contact me. Her name is Lauren, and when she had contacted me, it seemed like it was just meant to be. See Lauren is an amazing woman, who helps parents in so many ways. Like helping with saving those baby blankets that were used by your child who is now running and playing with the big kids, and in our case, creating a keepsake, one that my sister in law and her family can cherish and hold in their time of grief, from here on out. The keepsake is a bear, and the bears that come from Bears By Lauren, are a way of preserving baby blankets or old clothes that your once little baby, now big kid, have grown out of, or a way of preserving that memory of a baby, who is and always will be, a angel.
The bear she made for my sister in law, is one that is very fitting, one that is soft, representing a baby boy, the baby boy who my sister in law and her husband had imagined, with pieces of baby blankets, pieced together with such care and love, and a personalized stitching on the bottom side of the belly, to keep a memory of a angel who has gained his wings. You can read more on her story here: Delivering an Angel.
Well, just as Lauren, from Bears by Lauren did to help with the keepsake for our family, she would like to also create a keepsake for one of my readers, whether it be as a memorial, or just as a keepsake to help preserve those old baby blankets or clothes, by giving one of my amazing readers $50 to use at her online store!
Product received, thank you to Bears by Lauren for supplying me with a product for this review, all opinions are my own.
