Birthdays are something that my kids look forward to each year. In fact, as the time gets closer, they get more and more excited, talking about how they are planning on celebrating, and how in that one day, they will be older, and no longer the kid they were the previous year. I find it to be cute, and I like to feed that anticipation, talking about how they will be one year older, and planning their parties along with them.
Well to help with that birthday anticipation, we were sent some fun products from Elf on the Shelf: A Birthday Tradition. Just like the anticipation that leads up to Christmas, and having those fun little elves around, counting down the days until the big man arrives, the Elf on the Shelf, is here to help with celebrating another big day in a kids life, their birthday!
One product that we were sent, is one that is great for getting that countdown underway! With Robert’s birthday just around the corner, we have found the Birthday Countdown and Game to be a great way for Robert to countdown the days, and instead of asking each day, about a thousand times how many days until his birthday, he can see the progress, by putting the cupcake in the next space on the calender during the countdown!
Robert likes to move his cupcake down a space each morning, and announcing to the entire house and anyone else who will listen, just how many days it is until his birthday! Then, once we have completed that infamous 28 day advent style countdown, we can turn around the calender and get the party started with a fun birthday game that is on the backside. The game is one that is like the pin the tale on the donkey game, but with this one, it is a game where party goers are blind folded and given a fun candle, and try to top the cupcake with the candle!
Once we have completed Robert’s Birthday Countdown, we can decorate his chair with a fun, Elf of the Shelf Birthday Chair Decorating Kit! With this fun chair decorating kit, we can make Robert’s chair personal, by putting his age and name on the chair! This kit comes with 3 sheets with letters on them, which are used for personalizing and some colored paper flags to put the letters on. Then for the age, you pick a number from the one of the 11 white felt numbers, and place the number on the red scalloped felt circle! The kit also comes with a fun birthday hat for the birthday boy or girl, making the Birthday Chair Decorating Kit, perfect for making your child’s birthday extra special!!!
