We were treated to an amazing dinner while in Universal City Walk in Hollywood by the wonderful people at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.! Thank you for a great meal! All opinions in this post are my own.
The summer vacation travel season has started for us in our house, and one of our fist stops this season was Universal City in Hollywood, CA! Finding those family friendly locations that offer so much for the entire family to enjoy is key, and when we plan our vacations, we like to have our destinations set ahead of time, so we can enjoy the attractions and food while we are there!
Well, when it comes to the food aspect, we like to find those restaurants that not only offer a great menu with a variety of food that everyone will enjoy, but also a place that is family friendly. So when we were given the chance to head to the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. in Universal City Hollywood, we were thrilled. Being the landlocked folk in the Texas Panhandle, finding those places to eat at that offer some great seafood is ideal when we are on vacation.
When we arrived at Bubba Gumps after a day of walking around Universal Studios, we arrived with hungry bellies, and kids who were ready to sit and eat. This being our first visit to a Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. as a family, we found the staff to be great in explaining how the orders are placed, by using the fun blue and red signs metal signs that are on the tables! The kids liked being able to get a waitress to our table promptly, by just flipping our sign to blue. Then once we all ordered, they liked being able to flip the sign back over to red.
Aside from the fun signs that are on the table that are used to get the attention of the wait staff, the kids liked that there were menu items available for everyone, even my daughter who is not a big seafood lover. They also liked the fun, souvenir cups that lit up, which they got and had some fun fruity and refreshing drinks put in!
Another fun part was that during our wait for the food, instead of the kids getting fussy since they have little to no patience at times, we had a very friendly and funny waitress come by, and play a game of trivia with the kids! The kids loved this, they not only answered some fun questions about one of their favorite cartoons, but the waitress also engaged mom and dad on the trivia, by asking some movie trivia from the movie, “Forest Gump”. I found the trivia to be genius, because before we knew it, our meal was being delivered to our table, keeping the kids happy during our visit!
The food arrived in a very timely manner. We were able to order some fun fish and chips meals that come in a dish that was made like a boat, which both Robert and Wyatt devoured! Then for my husband and myself, we shared a bucket of the Shrimper’s Net Catch, along with a land lovers, cheese burger. Then Estrella, was also able to find a burger as well, keeping all mouths busy and tummies happy while we ate!
Then to our surprise, after we were done eating, the amazing manager at the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. treated the kids to some fun Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Merchandise from the restaurant store, which included matching shirts for Estrella and Wyatt, and a box of chocolates for Robert! Making our family experience at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. one to remember and one that helped make our vacation to Universal City, Hollywood complete! So when you are looking for a great family friendly restaurant that is both fun and offers a great menu of delicious items, head to Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.!
