Finding movies that come from great classic novels is something that I have always enjoyed. I enjoy watching them and sharing them with my family. One author that I have always adored is Charles Dickens. Of his novels, a story that I have always enjoyed both reading and watching, is a love story, Great Expectations. Recently I was sent a copy of the new movie version of the story, Great Expectations, on Blu-Ray to review. In this movie, you get the story of a young boy, Pip, one who is orphaned, then sent to live with his mean hearted sister and her husband who is a blacksmith.

The town in which he lives in, is not very big, and the wealthy family in town’s head of household is a rather escentric older woman, who has a very beautiful adoptive daughter. The woman is a very strange one, wearing her wedding dress from many years prior, still having the brides table set, and having gone mad from the moment she had her heart broken on her wedding day. The woman asks that the boy come to play with her daughter. The boy soon learns that even though he is destined to be a blacksmith, he yearns to be a gentleman, as to impress the little girl and her adoptive mother, and gain acceptance into the life he feels is fit for him.

This is a great love story, one that I enjoyed watching and sharing with my daughter. You can bring, Great Expectations, home on Blu-Ray and DVD today!
